Not pictured in my Line 6 Spider IV 15W Amp.

finally decided its time to get back into playing and what better way to kickstart it then with a new guitar

Jackson RR24 with a Semour Duncan (insert model when i know) pickup instead of the stock EMG81 (although im thinking about putting in a new 81)

The current line-up of guitars, minus the 'custom' job I'm still doing, a refurb of an old thing found in a cupboard by a family friend. The brown Strat copy in the image is also a custom (used to be an STG004 in black with a white pickguard*) - I redid the paint, gutted most of the electronics, swapped out what hardware I could afford and put my initials on the headstock for good measure.

* Forum software censors the make for some reason - ****. Four letters, begins with "A", ends in "a" and has an "r" and an "i" in the middle Why is that censored?

I have some MIDI keyboards too, but I've been hankering after a MicroKORG for some time now. Shame this wasn't a month or too down the line - had a lot of expenses recently and still awaiting my first paycheck at the end of this month, so I'm not in a great financial state right now. If I had the cash I'd be biting your hand off for the MicroKORG!

Links to my MIDI keyboard pics aren't working, I'll try posting them again later.

Just a quick update on a few new things!

Ibanez RG350M - all stock pickups removed and replaces with Dimarzios (Air Norton - Bridge, Truevelvet - Middle and Air Classic Neck). Also modded it with a coil tap on both humbuckers for stratty sounds - uses a push/pull tone pot. Absolutely sings now, bought it to complement the Gibson LP.

Took a while to tame the slightly rogue Edge III trem but all good now, in the unlikely event of a divebomb its right back in tune.

Vox ICE 9 Overdirve (Joe Satriani) - I'm not usually one to buy signature stuff but this pedal is beautiful, basically a slightly up-to-date tubescreamer.

Blackstar HT-1R - This is amazing, really nice valve tones at a sensible level, definitely worth shelling out the extra for the reverb version - sounds lush. Discovered that the 'Emulated' out sounds really authentic, I had always assumed these things always sounded rubbish but it sounds great though headphones and DI'd into Cubase in stereo.

Here's a little recording I did using the above.

Ibanez > Ice 9 (1'o'clock gain, full tone, 12'o'clock bass, 3'o'clock volume) > Blackstar (clean on full, slight break up).

I used the emulated out has I have no decent mics worth using - I think it's surprisingly good.

All through cubase with a slight EQ and some delay.

Are you saying you can use the emulated out on the blackstar through headphones? I have a ht 40 would it be safe to try this?

Not sure - the writing on the HT-1R calls that output 'Emulated out/Headphones'. I'd consult the manual.

The output will be line level, not 'speaker' level, so I can't see it being a problem. Always best to check.

Yeah I tried it it does work. But when the amps in standby. It doesn't mute the speaker when on. Handy for recording I guess. Then again my ht40 is a beast probably not meant for headphones lol, il stick to my line 6 pod xt live for that. Thanks man.

Someone is a Blink fan... :p

How does that JA-90 sound? I always fancied the look of them but could never find one to try it out.

Same here, always fancied one, but could never find one to try locally even when they were available to buy online. So instead I bought a 2nd hand Mex Tele 72 Thinline and a Squier Custom II with P90's for the same price as a new JA-90. I've not regretted my decision, and hopefully I'll never get to try a JA-90 to change my mind. :D

So I got an M-Audio Fast Track USB interface to play with, still getting to grips with it but here are my first attempts at playing with recording and Guitar Rig effects (some bits out of sync a bit). I play all guitar and bass, drums are arranged using Addictive Drums.

Decided to do a Pink Floyd Breathe sample when I found an effect that was close to the slide sound in that:

And a token Opeth cover:

And a little SRV:

And some America:

And gave Wish you were here a bash to see how it sounds micing up my 12 string through it:

Loads of **** ups but it was just for fun :D

Oh I also got a new amp to throw about for little jams, a VHT Special 6 Ultra...changed the chinese tubes out straight away to JJ tubes, but apart from that what an amazing amp, complete bargain!
