Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

I will be getting whatever is the best and quietest card at under £250 once the 700 series has been released. I am hoping the 670's might drop a bit, or that a 760Ti or a 770 might be in the £200-£300 price bracket.

We shall see.

No way the 770 will be sub £300 at launch. Even now the 670's are over £300.

770 £350+
780 £500+ (if its 3GB) £600+ (if its 5GB)

IMO, and purely based on "man-maths".:p

no doubt they will be priced on performance
on other nvidia cards that is :p in their world AMD prices dont matter hehe

i wonder mostly on what cooler the 780 will have, i doubt the same as the titan, so like a titan lite with the usual triple fan designs, should be interesting

why wouldnt they, the only reason they didnt with the titan/690 is bcos of the fancy cooler they included, i cant see the 780 getting that treatment, would make the titan less....special

Lets face it, the 780 is going to be obscenely expensive. It'll be two thirds of the cost of a Titan. No way I'm paying that sort of cash for a video card.

I fully expect the 770 to be over £400 and the 780 to be pushing £600.

Hope I'm wrong....

I don't think so to be honest. The 680 on launch was around £420 mark (atleast my MSI was) and from memory the 580 was not that much more expensive than the 480 on launch.

I'm just surprised that the 680's have not been heavily reduced in price given that they will need to ramp down stock. What would be nice is if they end of pricing the 680's in the same way as they did with the 480s? I swapped my 5970 for 2 X 480s (when they were < 200 each), water cooled them and the performance was unreal in SLI.

Problem is that this time there is no competition from AMD.

I'm fairly confident my pricing guesses will be reasonably accurate.

How's that? Last time I checked the 7970 was faster than the 680, how is that no competition? They offer more performance in the same price brackets.

my guesses

780 £479
770 £379
760ti £279
760 £219

but I do hope I'm wrong and even these prices are £50 too high

Bearing in mind we are talking about OcUK prices and 4GB 680's on here are £500+ the new 780 is bound to be £600ish at launch (assuming its 5GB!)

I hope i'm wrong tho. £500ish would be much more reasonable. I just can't see it! :(

I just want the price of the 670 to drop. Ive seen it on this week only many times always hovering around the £260-280 ex vat. Want to go sli but the prices are still close to launch.

I mean no new cards with comparable performance being released at the same time

We don't even know how the 7 series will perform yet. I'd bet a 7970ghz edition won't be far off, otherwise the 780 is going to be really close to TITAN performance and that will kill all TITAN sales.

What you on haha AMD holds the Price/Performance crown

I didn't realise there was a crown for that. Also whilst AMD do have a good selection of cards, it is no good resting on your laurels, computer tech moves fast and AMD need to stay in the race.

Price per performance isn't for everyone and some just want brute performance.
