Thanks Kaapstad.
Out of interest, did you take those memory measurements from in game play or just from the Graphics Settings screen ? I'm curious because I suspect you would not see true vram usage till you actually had the game running.
I don't wish to derail this thread further but to clarify, I played Max Payne 3 at 5760x1080 on 2x2GB 680's with no issues/errors. I remember getting that warning about VRAM usage but it never chugged it down to 1fps or close to that (the thing that happens when you exceed the available VRAM). I played a fair bit of the game but I soon got bored but not once did it turn into a slideshow.
I also remember AB reporting crazy fps and me thinking something was wrong with others systems but the newer AB was sorted and the real fps were shown.
Didn't we have this debate before Rusty? I distinctly remember deep discussions about Max Payne 3 breaking the 2GB easily and no one with a 2GB card agreed with that or had the game turn into a slideshow.
We did.
I don't think you really understand what you're going on about Sliver. No offence.
You will be buying 2 for SLI then?
Someone's knickers are in a twist!!!
Tell me, why are you getting so upset because i'm calling NV a ripoff, when the general consensus is just that?
None taken. You're right. I didn't realise how far off the calculated vram from the game was from the actual vram used. I don't mind being proven wrong with evidence, but I will fight my corner till I see the evidence, which Kaapstad kindly took the time to provide.
Sorry bud, I was just making a bit of harmless fun. No offence meant and I am pretty certain you can see it was funny if you look from a neutral point of view.
Second hand 7950 will be a good shout
This was nice to see tbh, someone being proven wrong and holding their hands up rather then spitting the dummy out. Top man sliver
The donkey or ass, Equus africanus asinus, is a domesticated member of the Equidae or horse family. The wild ancestor of the donkey is the African wild ass, E. africanus. The donkey has been used as a working animal for at least 5000 years. There are more than 40 million donkeys in the world, mostly in underdeveloped countries, where they are used principally as draught or pack animals. Surprisingly, none of them play Max Payne 3.
