Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

About tonight, I'm not sure how he can tell us all about Ray Tracing and the other aspects of the new architecture without giving us some decent details on the new cards.

I'll have to watch tonight and see what is said.:)

Yup sorry for me being picky about it. These things are easily done.

I reckon if they announce tonight, (which I don't think they will) we would see an actual release date of the end of the month and availability from their own store straight away and retailers anything up to a week later. AIB cards a month or so latter.

If there was a way to find out what PCPartner was doing? I assume that Nvidia still uses them for their oem boards.

I'm completely confused as to who's talking about what now. At first it seemed that the 8-10% was in reference to AMD, now we're referencing it to the new Nvidia cards? Have wires got crossed somewhere over the last few posts? A smaller gain than usual after the slightly longer two and a half years gap seems like a bit of a damp squib release.

If you read the title of the thread It's always been about Nvidia. There is nothing confusing about it.

You might want to go back and read some of the posts from a few pages ago, even Gibbo was posting about possible Vega performance and 7nm chips.

Quite easy to get confused to be honest.

Prob down to a few of us posting about how Nvidia might have dropped the ball slightly due to not pushing lower node etc and side tracked a little to AMD .

in need of a new card … hard position to be in tbh … refuse to upgrade to 2 year old tech from 2 year old tech. even at slightly cheaper prices on release of new cards... and refuse to spend big doller on a new gen cards if all there offering is 5-10%... and yet I still want a new card... locked into nvidia too … thanks g-sync .. oh but wait it doesn't matter because AMD cant compete. roll on facts but not looking good.

Not locked into anything. Sell monitor, buy freesync one if you want an AMD card. That is what I did, well the opposite, sold my Freesync monitor and got a G-Sync one. No one locking me into anything :D

well I did buy it for g-sync and yeah came from a similar speced freesync also but the fact is ive got it now , I like it so to get the most of it I am kinda locked into it even if its from my own choice.

But freesync and g-sync are the same thing. You had freesync before, it never locked you in did it?

Just saying by the way. If that is how you feel, that is how you feel. I just don’t see the logic personally is all.

Didn't see this one posted, but apologies if it has already:
https://www.ultragamerz.com/even-more-leaks-rumors-on-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1180-2080-11xx-20xx-gpus/

The details of some of the recent leaks of information about the actual release dates of 11 GPU family comes from the YouTuber, Gamer Meld, who allegedly received an email from an NVIDIA board partner and then leaked it. The email does mention at least four of the GeForce 11 family graphics cards and their release dates in 2018. The GeForce 11 series graphics cards mentioned in the email are:

Expected Specs
According to new rumors, the Nvidia GTX 1180 is going to feature 3584 Cuda Cores, 11GB of VRAM, 1600MHz core clock, 1800MHz boost clock, 13 TFLOPS, 16 Gbps Memory Speed, and a TDP of 180W. That’s not all lower end models are going to be released as well one a 120W GPU and the other a 150W GPU. The GTX 1170 is going to perform really well even trumping the GTX 1080Ti so with this we could assume that the GTX 1180 is going to be able to play all games at 4k 60+ FPS ultra settings. The 120W model or the GTX 1160 is probably going to allow gamers to play their games at 1440p ultra 60+ FPS. Both the GTX 1170 and GTX 1160 are going to feature 8GB of vRAM.

I wonder if Nvidia will product a titan to replace the TitanXp, they are replacing the TITAN V with this new RTX TITAN but what about a more cut down gaming card version similar to the current TitanXp.

I am really hoping AMD releases some kind of VEGA re-spin to compete.
