Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

So if it's around 50% faster than the 1080 it's about 15% faster than the 1080 Ti Not worth it. We've waited since March LAST YEAR to get a card approx same price at launch (maybe more expensive the 2080 is) for an additional 15% performance what garbage

If TR was running at 1080p in that demo i have to laugh, everybody noticed the frame rate dips or whatever but nobody mentioned that it didn't look sharp. And some people say 1080p is a low/potato resolution, shows how much rubbish some talk.

Hmm, metal shroud over the FTW3? New power control for ICX sounds interesting. As others said, not keen on the clear shroud. I despised them on the ATi cards. They were hard to clean with rocket blowers, air cans and brushes. You could never get it immaculate because you coudn't reach every spot and that drove me nuts.

3 slots becoming normal now?

Pro gamers/tournaments is 1080p/240Hz. Potato?

I didn't see the demos but, the web sites that discussed said they didn't look sharp at all.

This all seems like smoke and mirrors to confuse people and drag out the release of exact performance figures. I'd imagine the driver team are working overtime to get more performance before third party sites start reviewing it. Forgetting the price, there's a number of things about this launch that just don't sit right.

Pro gamers are not playing single player immersive games. They’re competing to win and just need smooth high FPS, not the immersive and engaging high quality experience a lot of us seek.

So indeed, potato.

Edit: PPI/Screen size also something to consider.
