Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Given that the demos so far appear to have been on 2080ti it does make me wonder what framerates we will be seeing on 2070.

You've got the wonder if they will even bother releasing a RTX 2060 or 2050 etc if the higher cards are struggling to push RT that much? Surely they'll be absolutely rubbish?

Guess its all relative at the end of the day, for your enjoyment.. i wont spend £1300 on an Nvidia product, but im happy to put £450k on a new (old historic) sailing boat, mind you that benefits me and 16 other people at once (crew limits for racing). I just cant fathom lobbing £1300 on a GPU, hell i wont even pay £600 for the Vega 64, at £450 is a bit more reasonable.

Don't the rich stay rich by making sure their kids inherit their vast fortunes? The Royal Family,Goldsmiths,Rothermeres, etc might be onto something!! :p

Terrible post Gregster and one of the worst you have made :D

Greg's post is pretty true to life, really. If your kids have all left home and you've got disposable still coming in, it's better to spend it on XY, than waste time on a forum moaning about not wanting to spend it on XY?

Ugh, this is too expensive - stop buying things.

Ugh, no I won't shut up, you're buying things that are overpriced.

Ugh, so what if I keep going on even if I'm not buying it, I clearly still want it.

;)

The rumours are the 2060 and below won't have RTX features and will be just standard GTX. Which is why Ray tracing will take years to be adopted by the mainstream.

There won't be much time invested in RT by developers if over 90% of the market can't run it.

BTW:

If you are going to die before 65,get those purchases in!

Funny when beany bot made that, then people started saying a hobby was more important than their own families. LMAO.

BTW,JHH's own family must be thanking you for their mahoosive inheritence. Must be awesome to be them especially since he is Asian and they tend to help their kids a lot.

:p
I did give you my own story but I must be alone in this :D

2060 and below might also be rebadged Pascal

Beany's kids probably haven't so he made an offhand comment that he would rather do that - yet all the posts saying leaving kids nothng after that was amusing,so people just amplified what he said.

Also its better to buy what you want then expect the internet to support what you want to get and then start moaning when people don't support it. I will tell you now - people will agree with your purchase, some will be indifferent, and others will criticise.

Just the same as in real life!! :p

It would be an awesome motion picture - imagine the CGI! ;) :p

It's honestly better to talk about the technology rather than keep banging on about how expensive things are getting. Might as well talk about the weather.

Fixed that for you

Well nVidia have the money and influence to push this now, even if it's just on AAA games. I hope they will so it builds up some steam (and be on the lower end cards from 7nm onwards (downwards??) :)

I'm not trying to over simplify things here... But you do know Nvidia can stamp what ever they want on the die? They can call a chocolate bar TU104 if they want. Same way they can call that die any card they want. Its pretty simple.

If the performance has shifted a card. Nvidia have shifted a card.

All the evidence says you are wrong. Die size, chip used and power consumption all point to it been the real 2080Ti. Whereas you have nothing only conspiracy theories, like Nvidia Spacing out the die to make it look bigger (laughable, do you realise how expensive this would be to do?) to them printing a false number on the chip(why??)

The 2080Ti IS the 2080TI, it's not a 2080 that's been moved up the stack.

Stop beating a dead horse, you are completely wrong about this, just accept it and move on.

But technology is not in isolation - sadly much of the tech we take for granted now as only suceeded due to cost or availability so is not the "best" tech. There is a channel called Techmoan which looks at the AV side of things and it is surprising we had things like 1080p even back in the early 90s but it didn't catch on.

Maybe, what we need is a pure tech related thread as opposed to a general card thread?? Might make sense??

Yeah,it is the big chip this at launch and the first time since the Fermi days.

My only concern,is with the 80TI now pushed to £1000+ where will that leave the next Titan will a fully enabled chip?

Even if we don't see it this gen,I will be interested to see what happens with the RTX3080TI and the Titan XA(or whatever it is called).

On a different note, those berating others for driving up RRP.

You reckon? lol :D

Yeah but come one, we know for a fact that just about all those that have voted Not Interested, Waiting For AMD, or Depends On Benchmark Results, have already pre-ordered a one, so id tak that poll with a gargantuan grain :p

Who cares? The Titan brand has been the biggest bait and switch of the last few years. It has never been worth the money over the Ti. It's sole function was to allow Nvidia to raise the prices of the other cards and have people go, "oh look the 1070 is as fast as the last generation Titan worth £1000"

And besides, they are moving the Titan Branding to the Prosumer market, so I imagine the next Titan card will be £3000+ just like the Titan V.

Poll is a joke. These cards are going to fly off the shelves. As mentioned, most of those votes are probably phony anyway, or at best totally misrepresent the actual reality of the situation.
