Read something interesting. The 2080 and 2080 Ti are currently power throttling as they reach peak FPS. With RT cores and tensor cores active, then that is less power available for the rasterisation cores and so power throttling will be worse.
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Can we have a link?
Ye just like Hidden power in PS3 right ?? RIGHT ???Maybe there's secret extra power hidden within as yet undiscovered and special "light years ahead" technology on the card that will be unlocked for all the RTX features. That must be it.
This is well documented... all attempts to OC the 20xx series quickly hit a power wall.

I look forward to seeing the strix ti prices when they finally land in stock. Considering every other card has "appreciated" in value ( gouged ) by up to £300, that puts these at £1750-£1800.

Well, I got an unexpected bonus yesterday, like enough to buy a 2080 easily. I thought I was all set to go treat myself but then I thought about all the other things I could do with 850 euros, and the fact I'd spent the last couple of evening playing games on my PS4.
I think the kicker for me is going to be whether my 970 copes with AC:Odyssey as well as it did with Origins. If it's still fine, then I'm out until the next range of cards from either AMD or nVidia appears.
Maybe get a 1070ti and spend the rest on something with a bit more VFM?
It just feels a bit daft shelling out for two year old tech. At the moment I'm probably going to wait and see what the 2070 performs like. It's a little pricier than I'd like...but I'd be happy enough paying 150 over the 500 EUR 'sensible' price if it gives me somewhere between 1080 and 1080ti performance, plus the RT and Tensor cores (I'm a game dev, and dabble in ML stuff, so it's useful to me outside playing games).
