Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

I played Final Fantasy xv with dlss on for a few hours last night. Initial impression is positive. I too noticed the jaggies on the top of the windscreen. There are some quirks. But then some things look better with dlss. The hair and foliage is sharper (im comparing with taa as that was the setting i originally played the game).
I found myself leaving dlss on as i didnt notice a downgrade in picture (pros and cons balancing) and the performance upgrade was noticeable.

I think that could be considered a deal. :D

Considering evga and their drip drab of stock its a rarity to see this particular card, or really any of their 2080ti series. Black edition is knocking about but yet again overpriced, was meant to be sub 1k and its closer to £1050.

I really don't see the point of the Black card, as I assume its running the non A version of the TU102 chip and as you said it should be way cheaper than the rest.

Yup, but as its a more appealing brand the entire point of it being a cheaper card goes out the window and its priced higher than it should be. Caseking germany had it in stock the other day for about £1240.

Said it before and i'll say it again, retailers are LOVING this round of cards as they're tacking on literally hundreds of pounds over their usual margins then doing the "supply and demand and exchange rate" dance, when really they're just pumping their customers hard. Gigabyte aorus in stock elsewhere for £1700+ ffs.

so can see on gamers nexus video DLSS is causing very noticeable shimmering, shimmering drives me nuts, and I foten tune games to minimise shimmering.

Still only seen DLSS been tested on 4k no other resolutions, as if it can only work on 4k.

Interesting to see that these have now hit £600.

I imagine we will see the largest price drops we've ever seen on a GPU series.

1. They where massively over priced to start.
2. Not selling well.
3. RTX / DLSS still remain in the 'not ready for production' , 'MIA' ball park.
