Labour are a center party. Of course in your rosy Marxist world the only party even remotely left is The Greens

They've been shifting to the centre-right since New Labour. Recall their policies on tuition fees, marketising the NHS, less-than-inflation rises in minimum wage, caps to welfare, and so on.

That political compass website agrees (FWIW), have a look.

I do find it amusing the hilarious misuse of the term 'communist' by a small but vocal number of the political right in this country. It's reminiscent of 80's American action movie culture.

Left, right and centre are relative terms so it's hard to argue that any particular assessment is wrong without a point of comparison.

It is fair to say that Labour today hold policies that are to the right of anything suggested or practised by the Tories prior to the Thatcher era, at least since WWII.

Labour are proposing few genuinely left wing policies, even those that enjoy wide public support (e.g. renationalising the railways) and are offering no genuinely left wing alternative to the austerity agenda, merely proposing to be slightly less extreme in its implementation. Meanwhile they're cheerfully dancing to the "controlling immigration" theme. So, it's difficult to justify classify them as anything left of centre at the very least.

I totally agree that New Labour was centre-right in general but even then it had very socialist policies, particularity around large state intervention. But when Gordon Brown took over it has been running back to the left as quickly as the furry little legs could carry them.

Can't find a 'none - democracy is an illusion' button?

Thats my vote.

I am still waiting for this button to appear?????????

Then I will press that - that's my vote - its all a massive con, anyone who thinks otherwise is abit of a sucker really. (but judging but the amount of conservative votes on the current pole, this board is abit middle Britain and middle class to see this or even accept it ?)

We heard you was loading a ship without the assistance of bonefide union labor. Say it ain't so.

They're hypocrites through and through. They say they are against fascism when they themselves behave like the biggest fascists in the country

Did you read Mr Jack's link? Having an open mind is a good quality.

For those who like to read both sides of a story, here's a different take on events.

By the way, since you're having trouble with words, fascism:

  1. (historical) A political regime, having totalitarian aspirations, ideologically based on a relationship between business and the centralized government, business-and-government control of the market place, repression of criticism or opposition, a leader cult and exalting the state and/or religion above individual rights. Originally only applied (usually capitalized) to Benito Mussolini's Italy.
  2. By vague analogy, any system of strong autocracy or oligarchy usually to the extent of bending and breaking the law, race-baiting and violence against largely unarmed populations.

Not the right word here.

So you have no point to make then!

I'm not surprised that you blind to their actions

They act just as much or more intolerant than anyone else in the country.

And if you have a problem with the word fascism (i think it suit them quite well) then we can also use bigotry

I don't think you understand what Bigotry means:

"Bigotry is a state of mind where a person obstinately, irrationally, unfairly or intolerantly dislikes other people, ideas, etc.[1][2] Some examples include personal beliefs, race, religion, national origin, gender, disability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or other group characteristics."

The latter describes UKIP's policies quite succinctly.

bigotry
ˈbɪɡətri/
noun
intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself.
"the difficulties of combating prejudice and bigotry"
synonyms: prejudice, bias, partiality, partisanship, sectarianism, discrimination, unfairness, injustice; More

Seems like i was right, you can twist it any way you like matey. They are more intolerant than anyone else in the UK. Of course you move overseas so you haven't seen these cretins first hand

You're talking about UKIP, right?

Good to see Cameron getting rightly heckled by a bunch of pensioners over the Health and Social Care Act 2012. At least one set of pensioners can look beyond the bribes.

Yeah, I was impressed by this. Pensioners as a group have done exceptionally well, relative to everyone else, out of this last government.
