I like the way Ed Miliband put his policies on a rock monolith.

It reminds me of David Cameron's `cast in stone`pledge, that when (2010 elections) he gets into power he will have an immediate in/out referendum on leaving the eu (small letters not capitals, they don't deserve capitals). I think he also said `vote me out if I dont deliver`.
Can anyone remember how that in/out referendum went ?

Her letter claimed that such a law would ‘increase censorship’, and argued that a pornographic picture of a naked child should not be considered indecent unless it could be proven that the subject had suffered.

Could you post the letter so that we can see the context, please?

It's quite odd it reminds you of that, considering that never happened :D

You are thinking of the pledge to hold a referendum on signing the Lisbon treaty (more powers to brussels), after he announced it Gordon Brown whipped out a pen and signed it double quick to take the wind out of his sails, hence why it never happened.

As both are not standing in the election, your post is pointless

Try harder

C-

No need to, your statement that labour are commies is ridiculous as is your implication that being a commie is in some way bad, I'm not a commie by the way, though to you may be I am I guess you think anyone to the left of farage is a commie and therefore bad.

The way they get around that (the same with the VAT rise) is they said 'when we win the election'....well, technically they didn't win the election as they had to form a coalition.

Typical squirming slimy salesman/politician weasling

Ah, fair enough, my bad.

How is it weaselling.
It's a coalition, no one has power to do what ever they want. They need to secure enough votes. Which is very unlikely without the LD, SNP, Labour all not wanting it. And as said it was Lisbon treaty which was signed before they got into power meaning there's little they can do,

How is understanding of a coalition so poor.

I suspect the deals are already done for after the results tomorrow. It's not like they are all going to run around like headless chickens trying to do deals afterwards.
They need to get their heads back in the expenses trough as quickly as possible.

Deals depend on number of seats though. So although there will have been substantial talks, it really does depend what happens tomorrow.

Tbf it's more important we have a stable and strong government after the election and if that means having to give way on certain manifesto pledges then so be it. The same needs to happen after this election I don't want a Labour government back-up by SNP votes but what's the alternative? Another election? Weak minority governments? Chaos?

OK I've given up caring now about this argument - seriously UKIP are going to command somewhere in the region of 12-15% of the vote so they are a legit party regardless what the press spin is about them.

I'm sure there are racists in every party plus the other hardcore party nutters that seems to worship the ground their own party stands on.

Not voting UKIP myself but not happy the way they are treated by the press. You just need to open you eyes and appreciate each parties agenda and spin.

Indeed, there is some small possibility the Tories get something like 295 seats and lib dems 29 say. That would give them a majority and would greatly change their options.

Otherwise, it is clear that the Tories plan is to make completely unfounded claims that a party without the most seats cannot become the controlling party. the onyl question is how far will they intend to break the law, or will they just try and manipulate the media

You've got to see the funny side of it though, that UKIP have managed to spin their public school boy and city trader into the man of the people by just being photographed in the pub with a pint and a fag.

I don't have a copy of the letter, I took that extract from this article.

I think you actually have to read the details surrounding this case, not a discredited newspaper headline.

The only thing She has campaigned for at the NCCL was the equalization of hetro- and homo-sexual age of consents, which is just common sense. She has never campaigned to have the age of concent lowered below 16.
