The thing that worries me about this, is that our Home Office has almost no concept of what is and is not a skilled worker. The current points based system (yes we already have one) and Shortage Occupation List are so crap that most cases have to be appealed and manually dealt with on a per case basis.

Our non-EU immigration is a shambles, I don't see how making our EU immigration a shambles too is going to help the country acquire the workers is desperately needs.

Oh i agree that immigration is a shambles as it stands, but i think it would be best to just bin the whole thing and start again from the ground up properly.
