If some voters choose not to vote for homosexual candidates due to their religion, what's wrong with them being told who the homosexual ones are?

I'm not saying it's right, but it's their choice and right or wrong they shouldn't be impeded from making their choice.

I'm just stunned, if a UKIP member said that it would be chaos

It is no different to any other group voting. E.g., someone could forma group called "Immigration watch" and the leader of the group could tell all the members that the best way to "Solve the immigration problem" is to vote for UKIP.

Oh, I get the difference, he is a non-white Muslim, forgot this was OCUK for a minute.

Would never have made the forum if it was about Aussie mp or American.

You hate British don't you?

No, you ignorant fool.

Do you think I hate my family and friends?

Do you think I hate the trade union movement?

Do you think I hate the guy I intend to vote for?

You hate everything about post ww2 Britain, you hate so much it must pour out of you when it gets warm.

A first world country that's so rich in resources that it doles out free food? You need to look what the 3rd world have to deal with. I've seen it close up

So it doesn't matter how badly people in the UK are treated because there are people out there who have it worse? It doesn't matter that poverty and food bank use is on the rise, and that one of the two main parties is seeking to cut a further £12bn from the welfare budget, which will only exacerbate the problem.

It's bizarre to see a developed nation, one of the richest in the world, handing out tax cuts left, right and centre in the midst of increasing levels of poverty. Bizarre and totally wrong.

Or perhaps it is having to use a food bank to feed your children?

I have to wonder what sort of people are using foodbanks, are these people on benefits or working long hours but cant pay the bills, are they prioritising skytv and alcohol/smoking while visiting foodbanks?

Find the whole thing dubious to be honest, would love to see some concrete statistics of what type of people are using these and what their incomes is.

People of your ilk see the poor as stereotypes, sad that baseless right wing memes influence so many.

Labour's challenge is going to be offering a carrot so sweet that the remaining lefty Lib Dems are willing to push Nick Clegg aside to get it. I personally think it's possible to pull off - there's still a lot of people in the party who would be a lot more comfortable with a LAB/LIB coalition, regardless of what Nick says about who has the right to try and form a government first.

I do hope that people will be surprised and the Lib Dems turn around and forma a coalition with labour. It is hardly talked about but makes the most sense in my eyes. Would put a pro-labour vote at around 350/355 seats which is a sizable majority and healthier than a LibDem-Tory coalition (310-320 seats) that would likely loose a vote of no confidence.

Both types of people I've issues food bank vouchers to recently all due to cuts in benefits/tax credits/zero hours it's a Tory shame

I wonder how busy foodbanks would be if claimants were prevented from wasting their benefits, or indeed if we had a citizen's income.

A country so rich but so distorted that the government can't properly look after the poor.

Seems the statistics for foodbanks are wildy exaggerated, 1.1 million people using them, however that statistic does not take into consideration people use them multiple times. So the real number of "people" is far less.

Also on the Trusseltrust website it seems most people use them because of "benefit delays". Says it all really.

With a citizen income I would agree that there would be no need for food banks, that is its purpose after all.

How do you propose to stop people wasting their benefits, and where is the proof that people using food banks have wasted their benefits?
many people using food banks don;t receive benefits, which is why they end up at the food banks in the first place. It is because the minimum wage is not a living wage and not enough to support them or their family, or they are on zero-hour contracts and didn't' get sufficient work or pay that week. Or they were made redundant, or their employer simply didn't pay them on time, or their car which is needed to get them to work broke down and the repair cost meant they had no money left for food.
