Never been caught but once when I was 13, I 'borrowed' my step dad's VHS tape as per usual only to have the VCR eat the tapr. It was wrapped around the inside so bad I couldn't get it out. When they got home, I had to explain why there was a porn tape stuck in the VCR. My step dad had to take it to repaired. I bet the repairman tested the tape after he removed it.

I don't hide anything. It's stored on a network drive shared between my computer and my wife's. I have a great wife.
I once hid some porn clips on my family machine, and later forgot which folder they were in. Fast forward a year, and I had some new clips that I wanted to hide "this folder looks really inconspicuous, and nobody will ever look here" I thought to myself. I open it and there is the long lost porn, looks like a deviant's mind never changes 
LOL at some of these, I've had my mother walk in on me and an ex whilst I was balls deep..
I was expecting an "OMG, sorry and retreat" but NO, she carried on with what she wanted to say as if there was nothing odd..
I was like "WTF... get out and knock next time"

On a virtual machine in a Truecrypt partition inside a Truecrypt partition. Unless you have indexing, google desktop search, or something like that enabled it's entirely undetectable. CCleaner with secure deletion enabled takes care of browser and windows traces.
No, not really! My porn is in a two big folders called "pr0n pics" and "pr0n vids" mirrored on two seperate hard drives so I don't loose it in a crash. I have no reason to hide it. My gf knows I have porn, and if she didn't like it the it would be too bad for her.
My brother has to hide his porn and I tell him to sort his missus out. It's sad having to hide your porn for fear that your missus will freak out.
If you're still living at home and your concern is your parents then that's a different matter though. I'd probably stash it in some passworded rar files with encrypted titles enabled if I was in that position, then set them as hidden and tuck them away in a folder with an uninteresting sounding label. My brother does the same as you, and just sets the files to "hidden". Never been in that position though. Back when I was living at home, porn was something that was hidden under the matress or in the sock drawer.
More on the original topic, no, I've never been walked in on in a situation where I was worried about getting "caught", or when having sex. I have however walked in on a flatmate doing the dirty on a mutual friend with the mutual friends girlfriend. She was fat. He was skinny. I had a chuckle about it.

Ive been walked in on a few times by my mum and dad.
Ive also walked in on my dad a few time while he was watching some late night TV in his living room. (hey its not my fault if I work nights right)
when I was about 9 I was getting changed in my room and stripped butt naked and my sister knocked on the door and for some strange reason I dived under the bed and she saw my foot hanging out looked down and saw me butt naked. We have never mentioned it since!!!
I have no idea to this day why I didnt just tell her I was getting changed when she knocked on the door instead of diving under the bed.
