**Ghost Recon Wildlands** Official thread

Finished all the beta events off this afternoon, enjoyed playing through it. Hint of the playing through division story where you can't just stand and faceroll mobs.

Failed a few side missions as people flew off etc, which makes combat a nice change.

Can get it for £30 with ubisoft discount.

Had a blast of this around a mate's house who is in the beta. It's all a bit pants isn't it. Especially so if you go back and look at the videos they originally put out. Not only does it look rubbish and plays rubbish, but it also seems to be dumbed down beyond belief.

Watched a few beta vids and the physics looks awful. Rolling a tractor down a hill, landing upright and driving away..

Want a life like shooter not gta type mess around..

I'm confused as to why people are desperate to compare the two. Care to divulge exactly how they're similar? Apart from being Ubisoft-published, 4 player co-op, and feature shooting people in the face, they're two very different games.

i didnt say it was a bad thing, i love the divison, its a brilliant game, just recon felt similar in the style of play and thats the only comparison i am making as they 2 different games, but the driving is like playing gta, i got some videos i recorded i havent sorted out yet of me messing around, but driving down hills and over rocks etc and the whole concept of that feels like your driving in gta :p, which again isnt a bad thing.

just my initial thoughts once i got passed the cinematic, the overall of the game is nice and the interface is good, but i am playing it on xbox, i was going to see if i could play it on pc too(no windows 10 cross thing), but couldnt be arsed to get told the codes been used lol.

What changed your mind? Playing co-op/solo? Finding better performance/settings? Played more missions? Unlocked more gear?

I did tweak the settings a bit and that definitely helped with the enjoyment but mainly I think it was just playing more missions and getting used to how the game plays.

I still majorly hate the driving, so much so the I just run when the distance isn't too great.

and to think i installed ubisoft's software on my computer
tut tut

all of ubisoft stuff sucks ass, takes like minutes to do even the smallest of tasks

No it's another clear representation of ubisofts lies.

Something done 2 years ago is hardly lies. That E3 presentation was like concept art. If you had your finger twitching on your wallet because of that more fool you. And since when has the trailer for anything been a reliable representation of your totality of experience of that thing?
We have already the beta from which you can judge whether it is a game you might want to buy. Ubisoft themselves are letting that Beta be played and freely broadcast. In what way is that Ubisoft lying?

This is from e3 in 2016:

How is that lying?

All good points. We have no excuse nowadays about not being informed enough before making purchases - with betas, live streams, video reviews and lets plays. And even when we see concept footage and early gameplay we surely know by now that it's unlikely to be representative of a final product. Crying foul and claiming they took your money while lying to you isn't good enough any more.
