**Ghost Recon Wildlands** Official thread

Be prepared to crank it down to low, Neil :/

Definitely turn off v-sync and put the frame limit at 60/50fps though, as previously mentioned. You'll get occasional horrible tearing, but runs much smoother.

Yup for that setup, you are going to have an awful experience regardless of turning vsync off... Even turning down settings doesn't bring much performance back i.e. for myself, with everything on low/off, I can still barely hold 50 FPS, that's why I'm not bothering with the beta, I can't enjoy a game that runs like **** and looks like ****, be better of getting a PS 4 pro and having a better experience lol...

maybe not then. could do with some upgrades but not just to play this.

even for honor beta played well on my aging rig for goodness sake.

Hmm, same game engine. Obviously the open-world nature of Wildlands places more demands, For Honor seems to be a much tighter affair, in terms of environments.

Pretty much every other open world game runs great and looks just as good (with different style of graphics), if not better than this i.e.

witcher 3 (only the textures let this down)
fallout 4 with mods
GTA 5
the division (even more so since it got dx 12)

Again, I know it is a "beta" (even though this is usually just a term for a demo...) but the game is due in a month and they have already been working on it for 4 years so given all the bugs (of which there are a lot...) and clearly they have a lot of optimisation to do, at least for the PC... I don't know how anyone can expect it be running well within the first week of release, let alone within a month of release...

It is a shame that they didn't use the snowdrop engine (division's game engine), I would rather have a smaller more packed/crowded map that ran superbly, looked better, had many nice features/physics additions etc. than just a massive open map with little to it and little to no physics that makes the game world feel immersive.

Yeah my hype has died, I'll wait for it to be £15 in a sale.

I was engaging a group of armed Sicarios and they just straight up disappeared. Not running away just were not there anymore. I had one in my scope and he just vanished.

It could be fun, but bug riddled and kinda repetitive.

Daft question - what happens when the beta finishes tomorrow? I assume you can't then continue playing the game?

Yep, will just become uplayable (or even more unplayable, badoom-tsh). No news if they'll do another beta before release, I suspect not.

(Beta ends at 11am Monday 6th)

Gutted I missed out on giving this a try - I much prefer PVE to PVP and am loving The Division!

When/if there is another beta, will it be the same people who get access or a whole new raft of players?
