Ghostbusters: Afterlife

The trailers look like a WAY WAY better attempt. Will watch it with great hope anyways

Well it doesn't have an idiot in charge that has some weird distrust of men because he got bullied in school, all Feig (guess what his nickname was in school) seems to do is make parodies with women in place of the men for some reason.

It's the oldest sibling who drives Ecto 1.

Still the things that made the originals so good was they were grounded somewhat in reality, it feels from the trailer that it's going to be Star Wars EP VII all over again, lots of fan service, ripping off the original and a bunch of mary sues, so it's going to be pretty meh

I hope I'm wrong though

Except this time its in the hands of someone who actually cares about the franchise and characters.

That often doesn't matter when the studio executives and beancounters get involved. The biggest disappointment for me is that it seems to be a kids film, what with all the leads being children and teens. That means it's pretty hard for me to take it as a serious film for adults. The visuals look good, but if the acting and characters are poor, I'm not going to care about the story despite how pretty it looks.

So if I am right, pretty much everyone hated it with the women as leads. Now you're saying it has kids at leads and you feel you won't enjoy it as a serious film for adults. Since when was Ghost busters a serious adult film anyway? Why can't kids be leads? It seems people wont accept movies without men taking the lead roles these days. Regarding the acting, I see more and more children acting known and experienced adults out of the park.

just watch it for what it is and always and been, a fun comedy romp with ghosts and brightly coloured beams of plasma radiation or what ever it was called. Oh an some funky cool music to boot.

Having kids as the main casts doesn't automatically make it a kids film. It's likely to end up a 12a cert. I think it will be slightly serious and dark with a little bit of comedy, just like the first film.

I'd also say that looking at the film and the love Jason Reitman has exhibited for the GB franchise that the studio have actually stayed away from this after the last attempt.

I don't mean serious as in, not funny or not fantasy, I mean serious as in all the compromises that are made for it being made for kids, not for grown-ups. How many kids were the main actors in the first GB film?

None obviously as it was about 3 men starting a business.

Wonder who it is in the trailer that's using the pke meter, that was basically egons gadget, and its obviously not one of the kids using it. Wonder if its a flashback to when Egon was still alive and they have a cg version of him in a few scenes.

If they go down the Egon route it may just be waist height shots and not show his face.

However who ever is picking it up looks to be wearing the lab coat and we have already seen Pheobe using and apparently repairing the PKE. So it could possibly be her.

What sort of compromises do you think they have done to make it a kids film?

edit: Plus The 1984 release was PG so it was a kids film. I saw it at the cinema.

It's not being compromised in anyway. It Calvo dows not look like a kids film either. It's made for the GB fans both old and new.

The original scared the heck out of me as a kid... Those terror dogs chasing Rick Moranis gave me nightmares for weeks after

This film looks really well put together. We know it'll be better than the 2016 pile of junk
