Ghostbusters: Afterlife

The originals with battery were in the region of 50lbs (though Dan Aykroyd has claimed much heavier contrary to the prop makers), the newer ones are less than half that, 20-25lbs or thereabouts.
The fellow busters pack that I tried in 2019 was at least 12kgs. I'm a pretty slim guy and it was so much heavier than expected. But another friend has a fully 3D printed one and it's about half that weight.

Seen a few of those, not bad looking but take an age to print.

Really wanted to get an aluminium wand and have it be an all in one with light and sound, very tight fit to say the least. Though there's a handful of people that make them out of aluminium and none are taking orders currently. =/

Yeah many of the older builders have retired or moved on. Blindfold Cosplay does full 3D printed packs and traos, PKEs. They look really good and of course are much lighter.

The original scared the heck out of me as a kid... Those terror dogs chasing Rick Moranis gave me nightmares for weeks after
I had recurring nightmares of pounding on glass and no one seeing me as I was attacked.

I still get a nervous sickness thinking of it now.
It’s funny how things are viewed as a child - that scene is clearly supposed to be humorous in part, rather than intentionally frightening (noting Rick Moranis’s acting/dialogue and the reaction within the restaurant).

I’m kind of amazed that we are going on to the weight of the proton packs and the sound of the sirens…. I guess people really do like Ghostbusters!!

For sure, i'm the same with Gremlins, watched it when I was about 6 or 7, scared the life out of me, again, as an adult I still feel nervously sick watching it.

Weird how the fears still stay with you as a grown adult.

As mentioned above I have it with Gremlins, also with Tim Curry's Pennywise, even though it's laughably bad now, still makes me feel very uncomfortable.

What a lucky bugger...

Aye, he seems to think its the original...which it's not. That's either ecto 1a or another car they had assembled for the movie. They had the original done up several years ago and it cost quite a lot, whereas 1a was in the sony backlot rotting, so makes sense they would use it considering the sorry state it was in. Had parts taken from it by souvenir hunters, some parts were used for the ecto 1 restoration, a van apparently collided with it and caused a lot of damage in the first pic..

Never was a fan of 1A, just looked overly goofy and they seemed to just go out of their way to slap lights on wherever they could and that was it. Wonder if it will be mentioned in the new movie, as obviously ecto is back to its standard first movie config mostly.
