Gibbo ETA for 3900x?

Price gouging aside, I do think Overclockers are unfairly getting in the neck over availability. It’s absolutely nothing to do with them. I’m sure they’d love to be able to take thousands and thousands of pounds and deliver a million chips to everyone, but sadly, not possible. They’re just as frustrated as you are.
Spot on. Rveryone whining can **** off somewhere else where they got stock and cheaper if they want. Nothing holding em. O wait no one on the planet got stock....

Without meaning to deprive anyone on here of a chip. Economy wise, wouldn’t it better to put it on the bay for a nice little profit?
Probably would but the hassle of selling on eBay if you get a dodgy buyer outweigh the small increase you would get. :) Plus i have loads so i won't miss it. :p :D

Ok lol, but I’d stick it on for what you paid for it and no offers. Someone will pay £480, especially as it’s £530 now.

One sold earlier today for £465 so people might not be willing to buy @ £480
I reckon you’ll regret it though mate. If you don’t need the money, what’s the point? You might as well just have it and enjoy it when you can. The amount of times I’ve sold stuff and regretted it later is ridiculous.

True i guess but i do only use my PC maybe once a week, i have an Ipad Pro for everything else when i'm at home as it's more comfortable sitting down on the sofa to browse the web and use social media. :)

Moat of us are just frustrated, but then again I didnt blame OCuK so not aimed at me.

Im just ****ed off that I spent 3 grand on basically air at the minute, monies out the account and everything, I need time off work because Im knackered lol but got limited holidays so cant build and have time off seperate. Im doing my first hardline custom loop so I want time off to take my time and not **** up or if I do have time to sort it out.

We're all just a little frustrated, its natural that fingers will be pointed in the wrong direction.

I’m the same, I use my iPad most of the time, but it’s so nice to have all that power at my fingertips when I need it. My advice is to keep it. It’s an immense CPU, and will last years. 3 years from now when Intel are still struggling to bring 7nm to the table for less than a grand, it will look like a great investment.

I created that thread... and to give you an update, I done some serious research into the gaming difference between the 3700x/3900x at 1440p and had a stern talking to my self. I can wait for the 3900x, pay the extra £180 for minimal gaming performance increase. Waiting at the moment is a guessing game, I pre-ordered rather late, so who's to say when stock does arrive, I miss out on that batch and continue waiting (ordered when about 150 orders were already waiting).

So this morning I changed my order to a 3700x, and with the extra cash left over purchased my self a new shiny case. The Chip, new x570 mobo and case already been dispatched for delivery tomorrow.

So on the back of that, if you pre-ordered early I would say hang in there as you will be the first to receive when stock arrives. But with stock as scarce as it is on the 3900x, can you really say truthfully that OC will get over 150 chips??

You've made the right choice, you've got much more value for money and aren't waiting to overpay for a vapour-ware chip you don't actually need and will see little benefit from.

I Might do the same, going to leave it one more day and then probably do the same. My pre order was the 12th when it said ETA 12th.

My problem is I will likely use the extra cores in my CAD/CAM software Im borrowing from work so I csn more practice and sort problems out. Though the 8 core 16 thread will probably be sufficient.

Its also an E-peen thing lol. Lower boost clocks and lower all core clocks on the 3700X compared to 3900X, my custom loop seems like overkill for it....

One more day........

This is it, I gave my self till today so I could change the order and get delivery Friday to build over the weekend. Whats done is done now, the 3900x would be a great thing to have but it is what it is now, I get a nice new case that I have wanted for a while.

For what its worth I contacted customer support on the 25/7 with a reply on the 26/7

"Thankyou for your webnote, we are due to receive 350 units of the 3900X, covering all pre-orders easily Steve, stock is due from AMD any day now so we are expecting them over the weekend or next week."

I hope their prediction rings true but it is almost end of the working week, the 3700x looks mighty tempting.

Thank you for sharing that, its some what uplifting. But weve had delivery dates be missed before so trying not to get my hopes up too much lol

Had a quick look on AMD's site and even they don't have any themselves - so looks like they are struggling to keep stock up/meet demand.

My order with 3700x is due tomorrow - do I hold out a day or two to see if the 3900x comes in so I can return the 3700x unopened, or build it over the weekend? Could always just go for a 3950x later.. :)

I'm coming from a x79 3820 @ 4.75. So anything in the series is a reasonable upgrade for me. Held out a long time.
Yea Ive got a Z97x i7 4790k im upgrading from which I built over 5 1/2 years ago, lost the silicon lotto with it as well as its a poor overclocker. But will serve well as a house media server and bedroom 1080p gaming rig with my old 980ti that I left hanging around.

Just hope we get news of delivery tonight / tomorrow.
