Why do you assume they have games for rma testing? Gibbo already said they only have 3DMark. Ther are plenty of threads about guys who rma'd cards with game-specific problems, and had their cards returned as "working fine".J.D said:Gibbo probably won't do it as games would be there already for RMA testing.
Exactly. You can leave 3DMark looping for hours, but games require someone to actually play them.LoadsaMoney said:Yeah not like they can sit there playing games for hrs on end waiting for them to crash.
lay-z-boy said:Last time i looked you had to pay for those games and they are not exactly graphically intensive either. (demo doesn't tax modern machines)

I agree 100%SteveOBHave said:It would be great if it diddled all over the 8800, would make the competition interesting again. Nice to have the choice and nice to have the competition driving the technology.
I love watching these technology races.

Amazingly, there are more & more people on this forum who are almost willing the R600 to fail, so they can gain some perverse satisfaction - they probably have an "I told you so" post saved, ready to paste up should the R600 turn out to be slower. They also seem to be blind to the fact that it is better for everyone if neither company pulls ahead too much.

I agree with Bubby, but there's no point naming names... further to that, I can't even think of any names!Shocky-FM said:You hearing voices or something? What "people" are you refering to?
Please, did you not see the last R600 thread before it was deleted due to the massive train wreck it had turned into, culminating in the threat of physical violence - always a winner esp. when made over the Internet. One of many over the last few months. The same people end up in these threads in circular debates that end up in flames and insults. Many people don't post to this particular board anymore (and have stated so) due to the rabid fanboism from both sides.Shocky-FM said:You hearing voices or something? With the release of the 8800 and the delay of the R600, it has just got worse of late.

Any way R600 will more likely be no more of a perfromance boost as to what we have now.
I have 90 days to step up using EVGA, as the R600 is already old tech IMO.
Then again. If it is faster NV will release the 8900 earlier and I will get a faster card sooner![]()
