I've just bought a motherboard/processor/ram kit from overclockers (DS3 C2D 6300 and 1gig of geil ram) and everything thing is working fine, except that my ide hard drive and ide dvd burner are showing up as scsi devices in windows xp device manager. Any thoughts appreciated

Just built a DS3 + e4300 + 2 gig team elite ram + arctic cooling freezer 7 pro + antec 900.
Everything works fine and all is still at stock for the mo. One thing is worrying me though. The fan on ac freezer 7 hasn't come on at all yet. Temperatures in TAT are 30 for both cores. I haven't changed any of the settings for fan mgt in the bios.
I know the antec 900 keeps things very cool. The acf 7 pro heatsink sits right in front of a 120mm and just under a 200mm exhaust fans, so there is probably lots of air traveling over it. But still, shouldn't the cpu fan have come on at some point?
Cheers
Alex

I have the exact problem you outline regarding the pc fans starting and stopping in a loop, without posting or getting a beep.
I've had three motherboards (all the same) and experienced the same problem. I changed the graphics card (same one).
I trawled google trying to find the answer and came up with so many posibilities, i was none the wiser.
My motherboard is now in RMA and i shall be ringing tomorrow to suggest that it is tested with a Intel Core 2 Duo and Corsair 1GB DDR2 667 MHz 128MBx64 RAM.
I'm now concerned as to what ram to chose and what to do with the ram i have!
How do i know which version of the Motherboard i have?
How can i solve my pc problem?
Thanks
Andy
