Gigabyte DS3/DS4/DQ6 Guide

Have u tried resetting your bios with the jumper?
Yes.

And have you changed any jumper settings when you was setting the board up?
No.

Check you have enough power going to your GFX Card, try unplugging your IDE/SCSI/SATA Devices and see if it will boot.
Yes, I had the PCI-E power connector on my 8800GTS and apart from the motherboard/CPU that was the only thing being powered (see below).

Also try it with nothing but your GFX Card in, (may have a problem with one of your PCI cards).
Already did.

Try also putting only one stick of ram in at a time, and make sure you have your ram in the same colour slots!
Already did. In fact that was the first thing OcUK tech support suggested that I hadn't already done and I slapped myself for not thinking of it... but it didn't help.

unplug anything USB.
Again, done.

Thanks for the help, but I think OcUK's tech support already covered everything and I was told, "sounds like it's your motherboard"... :(

Hi Guys,

I had this problem like 2 weeks ago now. I have this RAM: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-064-GLI built this machine in early April and it's been running fine. Then 2 weeks ago, my computer wouldn't boot. It would turn on for like 3 seconds and powers down completely. It does one short beep, which means a successful boot (Says in Manual). This is with both sticks in, in any order.

But when I put one stick in, any of the 2.. it will boot. It's really weird. I sent the RAM back to OcUK, they sent it back with no errors etc. So I am stumped.

Any ideas?

I have the weirdest of problems with my DS4 and HDDs

I recently upgraded my HDD storage with two 400 GB Samsungs and odly enough, after intensive data transfer (> 5 GB ) between the drives, one of them will reduce its data speed to 3 MB/s...

I've tried the usual fixes such as new bios/chipset drivers, shuffling the SATA cables, disconnecting some of the drives, re-installing Windows but to no avail. When I connect any of the drives to a PCI SATA controller (2x) they work just fine. Also, there are no problems with HDDs connected to the purple connectors on the board.

The issues kicks in only with drives connected a yellow SATA port.

I've come to the conclusion that the SATA controller on the mobo may be the culprit since any of the drives will work so long as it's not connected to yellow SATA.

If I uninstall the Intel SATA driver, the problem is fixed but only until the next large data transfer.

I've had many years of fiddling with computers but have never seen/heard of such a problem before. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3P

anyone tell me where in the bios the pci-e options are.

or has anyone else had problems with graphics cards underperforming till reseated. and this continually happens every few boots with different cards. How do you know if the slot is running at 16x?

right..seems every time i turn it off and leave it overnight it boots up with the pci-e at 1x instead of 16x..i have to reseat it to get it back to 16x..anyway to lock the 16x down?

Thats an odd fish. Do you lose other settings too or just for the GFX? If you lose others then the only thing i can think of is a donald ducked battery. Or corrupt bios, maybe try a bios update?

If your on the latest bios and the card is deffo a 16X card then i'd be trying to check the card in another mobo first.. if its fine then you know its a mobo fault and you could have it replaced

Got my GA_P35C_DS3R coming Monday putting a E6420 in with a TR 120 Extreme cooler for that plus 2gig 5300 Ballistix :D

The points in this thread will get me going straight off once I have built it....

Nice one ;)

I have had my system up and running for about a month but recently it crashed and my overclocking settings were lost, so now I have a major problem:
I have redone all the setting as they were previous but I cannot change the Ram timings manually to 4, 4, 4, 12 can somebody please remind how to do this please as the only option I can see is DRAM settings 1 or 2. I have tried resetting the bios to default but I still cannot acces the ram timings ... am I missing something obvious or do I need to reset the cmos/battery to be able to access this again ... has me stumped.

My rig:
Gigabyte 965p DS3 (rev. 1) f12 bios
Core 2 Duo E4300 (running at 3ghz)
Crucial Ballistix 2gb PC6400 (running at the default 5, 5, 5, 17)
Coolermaster Hyper TX Cooler.

tia.
