**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

Just to follow up your question. I received my card last night and it works without a problem on my OCZ 600w psu. Setup I have is [email protected], 1 ssd, 2 hdds, 480gtx, so hopefully that gives you an idea if it will work for you (if you have a similar setup).

The SOC card is fantastic, I previously had an XFX 6870 and in comparison the 480GTX performs around 30-40 fps quicker in Bad Company 2 than the 6870! Most notably, the 6870 suffered badly from slowdown when there was a lot of smoke in the game.

The fans are a lot quieter than the super noisy 6870 fan, even at 100%. Temps in games are about 75 degrees C. I have overclocked it a little more to around 850mhz (can't remember shader/memory clocks off top of my head) and it is nice and stable.

Great card, great price. I would recommend it to anyone gaming at 1920x1200!

Ahh thanks for getting back to me, will be ordering very soon!

The 480 with a Thermalright Shaman on is a decent bit of kit too.....63c Heaven loop @ 850 and 1150mv

Would the SE or SOC be better as a direct replacement for a 5870? I've kind of had it with the ATI drivers, just not performing what it should be in certain games and just want to go back to an Nvidia card.

I know one is almost £40 cheaper than the other, but seeing as i'll be selling my other card i don't mind adding more onto it to have a better card.

Thinking of the SOC now to be honest, but £40 quid more when i could possibly clock the SE to its levels is the on con in my mind. Saying that if it didn't... As you can see trying to justify it.

got mine two days ago, its slightly hotter and louder than i initially thought, at least hotter and louder than my gtx470 with vf-3000f, even with a heavy oc.

performances better than gtx 470 at 823core, 1810mem though. really impressed. i will post some benchmark tomorrow

have anyone tried to push it to 900core or more yet? if so what voltage is needed?

Gibbo truely is back :p Nice to see you bringing all the deals mate :)

First deal that really has tempted me to replace my 5870...that SOC version and that cooler make these deals unmissable really especially for the price/performance...great stuff! Some people will be getting some awesome deals :D

Well I've changed my mind now....:D

Got one on order today....taking advantage of a 0% interest 18month balance transfer so thought I would add this to the balance before the transfer takes place ;)

My HD5870 has been nothing but trouble at times so will be glad to get rid...will be an able backup :p

mine arrived this afternoon -just installed it

all great - but artefacts at stock overclocks/volts - which is rather annoying

in fact stock volts seem low .... 1.035V for 820 clock ?? Heaven starts artefacting straight away - horizontal flashes/lines occasionally - reduce memory clock, no effect, reduce gpu clock - flashes reduce ...

if you up volts it seems to get more stable

but I'm not sure why it would be so low to start with ?

any ideas please ?

these cards certainly drink a lot of juice ....

measuring in game - DCS A10 - 450W from the wall - base unit only

PC idles at 190W - which is about 20W less than I had with my 4890 at idle

under load base unit with 4890 in it was about 320W

eeek just checked HW monitor ... my 12V rail is at 9.89 V !!! not good at all

even if the 480 is not under load - very odd

hoping its a duff reading

really confused now - booted into bios - reading 11.98V in there

gone into windows and HW Monitor reckons 9.6V ... perhaps its just a duff reading after all

<panic over> its an odd reading I think - Asus probe in windows reckons same as bios - 11.98V

FINALLY got mine OCCT stable - but took 790 core (so had to reduce clocks from stock !) and 1.088V - passed 14 minutes fine

at stock 820 and 1.035V I had 800 errors within 15 seconds !!!

going to have to send it back it seems but right faff - wonder how Gigabyte stress test the clocks/volts in the factory ?

PSU seems fine even when running Furmark so I don't think thats the issue

Which drivers are you using is it the latest 266.58.

Other question did it artifact only in Heaven

I ask as when i installed my SOC and ran heaven 2.5 bench with 258.66 driverse i was getting artifacts, updated to 266.58 and amazingly artifacts had gone.

Ignore the sig will update later

I am so close to buying one of these. My GTX280 is showing its age and is having trouble with Dragon Age 2.

With all these DX11 supported games on the horizon it seems like a good time to upgrade.
