**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

I had exactly the same issue with mines, wasn't stable in the slightest. Downing the stock overclock increased stability, but I'm not entirely happy with having to do that so I'm just going to send it back and wait it out till the next series of cards I think.

oops I posted same time as you Stevie - see above - it makes me wonder how they are tested :( I've lost track of user names is that 3 or 4 of us now with stabilitiy issues at SOC clocks ?

ok just checked- its 4 of us so far :( how annoying/frustrating as otherwise its a superb card - following users have reported stability issues at stock SOC clocks :(

I will do an occt test in a while and let you all know if i get any corruptions or artifacts, i get no probs in Heaven Bench test

Also i will test the card ON ITS OWN rather than in sli

I'm just worried I'll send it back get a replacement and it'll be just the same ...

perhaps I should just get a Giga 480 SE as a replacement and get a partial refund of the 40 odd quid

Also just a thought

When you guys pull your card out next take a peek at the ram chips and see if they have pads on them all as mine dont
i have 1 and a half ram chips uncovered , the heatsink is ubove it but no pad between

This could cause probs with ram as they get to hot

You can see if you look at the side where the sli connectors are??

very impressed by the stock performance. a pretty good jump over my gtx 470 at 823core and 1810mem.

Will the soc run with 2 6 pin plugs instead of a 6 & 8 pin?? Waiting for a new cable to turn up for my HX620 but I want to get the card in and check it working/do a reinstall.

Won't game on it just desktop until cable arrives..

Cleeecooo i just run the occt test on the gpu and at first i was in 3d which halved the performance of both cards as it was locked to 60 fps but when i tuned the 3d off the frames jumped to 119 etc and i had 95c on the SOC card (before I turned it off) and got a lot of glitches

continously

HHHHHHHm

ok in games though as i use 3d most of the time then to and when i turn them off the gpu,s never get ubove 80c and i get no glitches

BUT I DID WITH OCCT

So maybe they all do it i is beinging to think

Gddr5 is very cool running (Especially at the speeds of the 480.) Heatsinks will do next to nowt anyway.

Very tempted with picking up an SE version for lil bro for the price of £205. Seems great offer if they have fixed the heat, noise & bit more efficient power (making it around gtx570 levels). Bit concerning though that some peeps having issues with the SOC version.
