**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

I agree just unlucky - agreed that its a great card and well worth a purchase

hope OCUK have enough for replacements for us though - I thought end of last week they were almost out of stock ....

I got excited 10 mins ago, plugged in the 2x Molex to 6 pin in instead - to see if a differentloadingon PSU would make a difference

went into Heaven - no artefacts !!!! wow - hoorah

except then realsed I'd clicked on "keep overclock" (well underclock in my case!) in afterburner and card was running at 760mhz :( at 820 same as ev er with number of artefacts

RMA then :(

10+ in stock. enough for us then :)
However, there may have been like 11 orders over the weekend and the system may not have registered it or something. If that's the case, I expect OcUK to send them back to Gigabyte and DEMAND that they give us 580's instead :D

lol or could RMA direct to Gigabyte ? I've heard their turnaround is 2 days ?

the card itself ooses quality from a bild qality point of view (I've just had case open and had relook around etc) - so its a shame :(

btw for any new owners - one thing to watch - it was immediately apparent - evenfrom just holding that as the cooler is quite different and less "bulky" /solid than the reference coolers - that the cards have less protection against flex ...

therefore when installing, inserting PCI-E power etc- make sure you support the card at one of the corners - just keep fingers away from any circuitry/components, the very edge/corner should be ok

yh 2-3 days, UK RMA base aswell.

The card does look pretty flimsy. The actual aesthetics are amazing tho. Shame it's blue

onepositive these cards work amazingly well with lots of AA applied :)

BFBC2 maxed out with 16xAA - 60fps pretty much locked :)

New Vegas - 8xAA smooth as silk :)

and thats underclocked :)

yup you're right

I did some searches on my PSU and one reckoned this split after talking to Tagan customer support- have no way to verify if correct or not - but worrying if correct - its quad rail - each 20A - but if both my PCI-E are being powered off same 20A rail ....

just to make sure I'll try the adapter in the box, and try one of the powers off 2xMolexs - in that case it would definately split across 2 rails

12V1 for Molex ,FDD,SATA
12V2 for CPU (P4,P8)
12V3 for M/B (20+4Pin)
12V4 for PCI-Express

Correct me please if i am mistaken but isnt 20amps one the rails to low for this card

I say this as i had a 600w psu with 36amps (or was it 38amps) and it imediatly blipped when the system powered on so that went back

they said i needed at least 50amp AT LEAST

think this hiper 1000w has a 75 amp rail etc (combined)

If i am wrong then its because i was given wrong info lol:D

borderline but with power stuff its all very dependant on the actual quality of the PSU than some of its ratings

for instance - saying it needed 50amps on each rail ... well that would be 100amps in total ... 1200W just for the GPU itself ... Ido'tthink so

evenif it was across 2 rails - that'd be 540W just GPU itsef which again is way over what it is really

what would cause massive colour bleeds in the bench and games in sli with another card BTW as i get that on heaven all of a sudden and i dont think its this SOC as that is FINE on its own at ref clock speeds etc but as soon as i physicly put the other card in and bench again it causes colour bleed ie the whole screen is like looking through a stain glass window effect

Reinstalled drivers and tried new beta drivers and it still does the same

I even unpluged a load of other stuff to see if it was to do with power supply

I haven't heard good reports about the Hiper psu's.

i have had this one for around 2 years and it has never failed me NOT ONCE

I was going to upgrade it soonish as i always change my psu every three years or so (as connections normally change)

my last psu was a tagan and had 4 6 pin pci cables and due to the need for 8 and 6 pin i upgraded that

I'm glad you have got a good one, keep an eye on it. :) As I recall, some parts of them are actually quite good, though I forget what it was that failed more often than in comparison with most other makes.

Ok so what are you guys using and what should i get to replace this one

i will put this one in another rig i got that dont require much power

I have reinstalled the cards and reinstalled the drivers and fitted a couple of exhast fans and now i have no colour bleeds

Do you think it could be MY psu not up to it then

I do have a lot powered up including watercooling

Had some problems when upgrading two friends PC's with GTX480's powered via Corsair HX520w and 620w, iirc each PSU was about 2 years old and worked fine with their previous gen GTX260's.

Tried my HX750 and then all was fine, so needless to say I was not popular due to the required extra expense; since id advised both as to which 2nd hand GFX cards to buy cheap. :o

Just took receipt of mines there...just fit in the case  bout half a cm of give :D

Quick unigine run is artifact free so some proper testing will come later on and then we shall see how go from there :)

Has to be said it is pretty loud when the temps go up...fan at around 82% are audible for sure....with headphones not a problem

Have run mine through Heaven V2.5 on extreme Tess settings @ 1920x1080, 4xAA, 16xAF @ not an artifact in site....
Do not bother much with benches as am too busy playing games....
Got AC Brotherhood maxed with this.... fabulous.

after imence testing this card runs fine for me

My colour bleed was due to psu and how much i had pluged in to one of the cables
but sorted now

I installed the card on its own and it was fine NO ARTIFACTING
