**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

Well sadly I'm suffering some severe microstuttering on the desktop as well as in applications so looks like my Corsair TX650 aint up to the job quite which I'm surprised about :(

Tried a sweep but gonna reseat the card in the mobo and reinstall windows tonight to start afresh to hopefully solve the issue, if not I may have to look at a new PSU

microstuttering in desktop ? doubt that would be the PSU ?

I mean mine reckons its drawing 20-30W in windows desktop ...and in facti n general windows usage its about 30-40W less than my 4890 was

Although Corsairs are epic, these cards do need a lot of power.

Will be RMA'ing my card on weds so will let you guys know how long it takes

Cleecooo - did you start RMA process today ? I'm going to contact OCUK tomorrow

I did consider RMA'ing direct to Gigabyte - I'd have to pay the postage then - but if its really 2 days turn around

I'm just concerned that with a number of us with problems (not all of course) - if it gets exchanged for another one- still a fair chance the replacement will not work at SOC speeds either

Be surprised if its your PSU as mines on a 620W corsair and its perfectly fine...

Got my RMA no. from RJKoneill today (thanks RJK) and will be posting on wednesday. Hopefully due to the age they will do a direct replacement. If they still have stock, once the fault is confirmed, i'll ask for a refund and just re-order.

It's not your PSU. A tx650 would hardly break sweat.

Which is why I'm surprised at the issue, as I said...gonna reseat in the Mobo tonight and reinstall windows, best to start afresh with these things after all and I'll report back once it's done.

Cracking card though, the performance diff between my HD5870 and this is certainly noticable...

looks like it should all be good to go now guys :)

Will give it a few days and report back, there must have been something that it wasn't agreeing with but a nice format and re-install has got everything running smoothly again, lets hope it stays this way....

Oh yeah, artifact free ;)

Yeah done a run with my HD5870 before I changed the cards over...

i7 930 was only clocked at 3.36 during the tests as well and res @ 1650x1080

Unigine

Heaven Benchmark v2.1

GTX 480

FPS:65.4
Scores:1648
Min FPS:24.3
Max FPS:139.1

HD5870

Heaven Benchmark v2.1

FPS:35.4
Scores:891
Min FPS:19.5
Max FPS:91.1

Massive increase there tbh. Will get it hooked up to 1080p later and get my clocks up to 4.2Ghz later.

Don't forget though he was running version 2.1 which will give you higher scores.

Got 2.5 now and done a run on that in the official thread with 4xAA

Had some problems when upgrading two friends PC's with GTX480's powered via Corsair HX520w and 620w, iirc each PSU was about 2 years old and worked fine with their previous gen GTX260's.

Tried my HX750 and then all was fine, so needless to say I was not popular due to the required extra expense; since id advised both as to which 2nd hand GFX cards to buy cheap. :o

Cheers for that. I was going to buy one today, but knowing my Corsair HX620w isn't good enough, will leave it for now :(
