**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

Whoa! 100 degrees C??

I only tested for 10 mins, but mine plateaued at circa 85c after about 5 minutes.

There really is some heavy variations on these cards...maybe the airflow in people cases isn't up to the job??

Have to say my Lian Li PC-7FN Case aint exactly the largest so the airflow could be the problem there with that however it's more down to the room...it's like a bloody oven, being directly above and next to a boiler doesn't help matters sadly :(

Even with that problem I seem to have got a stable as hell card ;)

What are the asus ones like for noise and temps? Normally id go for the ones with custom cooler but this is in one of ocuk's pre builts (crysis editions) and im pretty sure its using the asus ones (SLI) worried about it being too hot, although in a pretty good case (coolermaster haf tower)

I have 2 asus gtx 480s in sli inside Haf x case and there not loud at all, fans on the cards only reach 52 to 53% in games

fans are quiet

can anyone set theirs to 100% and after a few mins do they start making metallic - pulsing noises ? mine seem too - very odd-thought it was my PSU - but its the fans - ver odd

one odd thing it seems the older the Nvidia driver I use the "more" stable the card is

25xxx ones were better still not stable but less artefacts than more recent drivers

either that or its something temp related as artefacts are far worse tongiht than they were this morning and all I've done is gone back to latest Nvidia driver

as promised yesterday the vids showing my problems

artefacts-1.avi

artefacts-2.avi

any ideas much appreciated :)

grass in 2nd one is very bad

When I first installed my 480soc, it artifacted really bad at the stock 1025mv.
I was getting green sunbursts & stars all over the place.
As you've read from the other thread, this was fixed by removing the power hungry Zonar, I cant find how many watts that thing used though.
Well now Heaven runs with ZERO artifacts, although firmark still artifacts at 1025mv, but is ok at 1088mv.

This is all very confusing as removing a sound-card to improve the power helps but upping the voltage did not help before.
Im starting to think this card needs a really good PSU

thats very odd - as a soundcard won't draw much power at all - 20-30W max ?

I tried dropping my CPU clocks to near stock- which meant under load in benchmarks - about 70-80W less was drawn from the wall - so a lot less- made no difference though :(

Mine idles about 42C.
