**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

Is this a replacement 480soc or not? Also, what is your card's serial number? (just the four first digits to tell the batch date).

Thanks.

No this is my first one i bought . It fails tests with occt and heaven artifacts with it at default 1025v so i was going to send it back but i upped the V's to 1050 and it is stable now

The occt i used to test is the new beta 5 OCCT 4

Temps are about the same with the increse of the v's mind you i have 2 outlet fans one above each card to draw the heat out the back and 2 x 120 fans blowing directly at the cards one on the side one blowing from the back of the cards to the back of the case and then all the prefitted fans on the HAF X case PLUS 3 fans on the rad at the top that push air through to 2 x 200mm fans at the top pulling the air OUT of the rad and out of the case

I MUST SAY THIS IS LOUD I CAN HARDLY HEAR MYSELF TYPE

But keeps quite acceptable temps

It's all good then, glad it worked for you. I also have an extra fan (side fan 12cm) blowing towards the graphics card, but to be honest, I see no difference in temps between low rpm and high rpm. Seems like the windforcex3 does all the job and doesn't care about an extra help...

Anyway, I wait for my replacement card to arrive tomorrow, will post back.

Please excuse me but can't we keep it just about GTX480 SOC problems, as the topic title says? There are now some 45 pages of messages and it's already very hard to keep track of relevant new ones.

I don't understand how these "gtx580" messages contribute to our problem... Don't mean to judge anybody, just trying to solve my graphics card problem...

sounds like these cards aren't worth the hassle

great card if you get a stable one but the chances seem too high you'll get an unstable one

how can this percentage(going on this thread) of these cards be unstable and still make it to sale?

This is weird indeed, and not only that but they also keep on selling the same batch, as it seems from this thread (same revision 1.1 and same manufacturing date 11/2010). They (i.e. Gigabyte) don't even bother issuing a new bios or an announcement, nothing.

! TouchDown what is your voltage !

Well, you mean what was my voltage since I RMAed my card (check sig) and a new gtx480 soc is expected to arrive tomorrow (saturday) morning. Unfortunately I can't recall what my stock voltage was. I remember though that once problems started to appear, I tested many values (1.050, 1088, 1.1) with no luck. I even underclocked my card below gtx480 stock speed (<700Mhz) and I still have had the well-known problems.
