**Gigabyte Super OC GTX 480's - VERY LOW PRICES!**

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 480 SOC.

Bought mine at the old price and thought i'd chime in with how it's running.

Firstly, bloody hell this thing can get very hot very quickly, i've hit 103 before in stress tests, at the 90%+ fan speed this is literally like having a vacuum cleaner in your system.

Secondly, thankfully, this thing has been rock steady and artifact free. No game or benchmark has pushed it much past the 85 degree mark.

Mine is the standard SOC 1.025 volts, 820 core, 1641 shader and 1900 ram.

In this fairly closed Fractal R3 case with stock fans it idles around 35-41, with a low speed 600rpm side fan added the idle and load temps drop by 5-8 degrees, showing how much this kind of cooler really needs air flow. Twin top fans in the case and another front fan reduces temps by another 1 degree.

Having said all that, and being one of the few lucky people reporting having a stable and working card, I can't help but regret the purchase, I wouldn't recommend anyone buy one of these at the old price, new price, or any price.

I've been a raging Nvidia fanboy since the old Riva TNT days and honestly this 480GTX has me wishing for a 6950/6970 instead. We had plans to put this in the other halfs pc and for me to grab a 580GTX, but I think she'll be keeping her 450GTS and I'll wait for the 680 series to see how things are.

One of 2 in my folding rig has just started getting NANs :(

Thinking its died, works for between 1 and 10% then errors... Only ever run at "stock" and temps never over 75 degrees..

Gutted as it really pounded out the points.
