Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 Owners Thread.

Bios F21 is available on the Gigabyte webby , this is for the gaming 7 skylake motherboard

the description says V core Voltage adjust

Im still on f8 the f20 bios didnt look good with all the problems it has when you search the internet , so i'm hoping that this new bios may have all problems fixed and it ok to use with the i7 6700k

plus i want the new smart fan and intel speed step enabled which f8 bios doesn't support

I'm on F21d (F21b before), after some weeks I can confirm that vCore it is really good, better thant F7, F8 and obviously F20. I have only an issue unresolved: Windows resume from suspension by itself when WoL on Intel NIC it is enabled
Probably F21 it is the best firmware for this mobo.

I'm surprised that giga released new bios, I thought they would stop at 20 (even considering all the bugs in it) ...but good for them and users. Plus for gigabyte for continuing support ;)

OK so i've just updated to the F21 from F8 on the gaming 7 skylake , and everything has gone well .

@4.6 with 1.27 volts which is just a bit lower than i could get with F8 bios (1.30v) ,plus i like the new smart fan feature and bios layout .

Only ran prime95 for 15mins and all temps are in normal/expected parameters .

Bios looks good , so if you were like me and didn't update to the f20 bios because of the overvolting and other issues this f21 looks good so far .

Will update if problems arise ..

Update
So after a few more hour of running i've noticed that my front 2 USB 3.0 ports are only working at half speed after the update , in device manager i have Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) The SuperSpeed link to the USB device keeps going to an error

Ive tried all sort of fixes over the few hours to resolve this issue , it happens whenever i plug any any device into the front ports on my PC case that runs of the header on the motherboard .

The back USB 3.0 ports that are on the motherboard back plate working at full speed ..

Update 2
Problems sorted now , i just reset the cmos with battery and mains lead out and now all USB ports working within spec /Happy days again

That is because a lot of people opened service request to Gigabyte support for vcore issue. They are very collborative and gave me and other peoples betas to test. After positive feedback they published the F21 final for all. If you want Gigabyte continue to support this board you must open ticket when there is a bug. If many people have the same bug there are more chance that wil be fixed.
