Anyone remember the computer narrated voice saying - "Satellite Rain"? Then hearing the siren before levelling the whole area with missiles from the sky.
Love it. Thank you GOG!
Hitman: Codename 47, a game that crafted a standard for in-game contract killers, can finally stealthily approach you with a garrote wire on GOG.com for $5.99.
The ultimate gaming assassin is silent, emotionless, infallibly lethal, well-dressed (suit up!), and he can only be distinguished by the barcode tattooed on his bald skull. His name is 47 and he has created a lot of bad publicity for bald men wearing red ties since his first appearance in 2000.
Hitman: Codename 47, the first game in the franchise that has spanned 4 titles and a movie to date, developed a completely new approach towards third-person shooters and stealth games. You need planning, elaborate schemes, deceit and sometimes a garrote wire to perform your assignments in the most “silent” manner. Or you can just kill everyone, one by one. Find the target and eliminate it, by any means possible. That's all that really matter
Experience the opportunity to be a futuristic freedom fighter in Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition, here on GOG.com, for just $9.99!
Deus Ex is without a doubt one of the best, most influential games in history. PC Gamer and PC Zone both have named it the best PC game of all time. It has received countless numbers of “Best”, “Greatest” and “Top” game awards. The story of JC Denton is a perfect fusion of RPG, FPS, and adventure. The world of Deus Ex is immense, the storyline is ambitious and layered, and the freedom of choice guarantees high replayability.
Ancient conspiracies, secret agendas, political intrigues, twisted plots, nanotech-augmentations, difficult moral choices, twenty-four weapons, intense action, deep character customization - it’s all here and it truly combines into a cohesive whole. The depth of the in-game experience and interaction will engage you on a level unparalleled by any other game.
Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition is as close as you can get to the real year 2052 without growing really, really old for $9.99.
I reckon most of the sales will be to people who just want their copy available as a download.
Well first of all, **** Hitman. Apparently the series improved, but the first game was just a puzzle game in disguise.
As for Deus Ex...great game and all, but who doesn't own it by now? Surely anyone who missed it first time around isn't going to be that bothered now, are they? I reckon most of the sales will be to people who just want their copy available as a download.
I was looking for GOG game reviews and ended up on a website with torrents for the entire game gog listing, in other words... piracy
Not impressed, Don't give a **** if it's ubisoft but not gog![]()
This potentially opens up all of the Eidos\Square catalogue. Including the likes of Thief and the Final Fantasy ports.
Well they did release Thief. On it's own, for $10.
I'm wondering if they aren't getting greedy. Thief has been available for years as a triple pack (1, 2 & Deadly Shadows), which I bought years ago for £5.
GoG largely release games as individual titles & often without expansion packs too. In short, I'm starting to think GoG is a bit of a rip-off.
Case in point: bought BG,BGX,BG2,BG2X,IWD,IWDX,IWD2,PST,TOEE in a pack from Impulse for £6. GoG want $56 dollars and you get to buy them individually.
GoG have said the publishers prefer the $9.99 price point.
Besides, I couldn't give rats what the publishers "prefer". Over-priced is over-priced. Charge $10 for one *old* game and watch people turn their noses up at it. Or buy it elsewhere for much, much less.
Is Planescape Torment overpriced at $10? Or IL-2 1946?
