Tell me guys, do you warm up on the range before you go out? Really only been back into my golf this last 12 months but find that if I don't 50 balls first, I can pretty much write off my front 9. 11 shots difference between my front and back 9s today.

I normally warm up on the range before going out on the course, though I've occasionally found that if I hit a few bad shots on the range then that can get into my head and ruin the round of golf for me. Sometimes I just like to go straight out on the course, and some of my best rounds are when I've skipped the warm-up and gone straight out. I'd certainly advise some sort of stretching prior to playing though.

I'm going through a real purple patch at the moment, to the point where I've started to beat my regular playing partner. This time last year he beat me by 20 shots in one round, so I'm delighted with my progress.

Is anybody else watching the Players at TPC Sawgrass? McIlroy is gaining on Na!

Put a supplementary round of 75 in recently (par 72, SSS 71). Subsequently been cut to 7.9. At last my game is going in the right direction. After a poor injury hit year last year it looks like I may have finally cracked this game......yeah right ;)

Martin has pretty much ended himself with his tee off on the 18th, unless he can get close with his third. Kisner has a chance on the 18th to win outright also.

Really great last round this.

A warm up will always help you going into a round of golf. Its not something you do to get an indication of how you are going to play. Its simply to loosen up so the first tee shot doesn't feel stiff/unorthodox. I play 2/3 times a weekend and always the first one out. Probably spend about 5-10 minutes on the putting/chipping green and head straight out. Shot my PB on the whites Saturday with little warmup so it can be done. If you have the time or facilities then even hitting 15 balls on the range or in a net would benefit.

Well I have a round Sunday so went to the range to diagnose my problem that destroyed my round week before last.

After about 50 balls frustration I worked out that, for some reason, I had moved my grip round the club and was addressing the ball from too far forward leaving my club face far too wide open hence everything zipping off to the right.

When I corrected it I hit 15 shots down the middle for about 140 yards a peice. Lost 10-20 yards fixing my issue but I'm happier to be hitting straight and I can work on the distance.

Even better I actually found and fixed the issues myself :D

The Sheringham course is lovely if it's the one I'm thinking of. Is it the course where the first tee is up a hill and you are teeing off down into the bottom?

This is the 3rd year running we are playing the open, in the Top 100 courses for a reason. Awesome track and well worth the visit. Plus the fact the open is only £55 for 36 holes ;)
