Ping i525 4-W and Vokey SM9 50* and 54* is what arrived.

Also have SM8 58* in the bag from last year plus a SIM2 D driver and Ping G425 LST 3W. I still also use my 20 year old Callaway Steelhead Plus 5W as I find it comfortable. May change it this year tho.

What lofts did you get the Pings in?
they're a nice looking club

I also want the Vokey wedges. I've currently got the original Glides from 8 years ago

Went for standards as suited my ball flight the best. Had a great experience being fitted and of all the clubs I tried just liked the Pings the best.

Need to get fitted for a 5W or Hybrid soon tho so see what that brings.

Beaten 3&2 tonight - played ok, poor off the tee, good game between us. Hit the ball in a few spots you couldn't afford to miss.

I need to loose/focus on the fact I hit the ball way straighter with my irons that I've done for the last 20 years - I've always played with a cut (3-5 yards) on my good shots with irons - but since lessons, new clubs, I am effectively hitting it dead straight. But I still aim slightly left of my target, as that's what I've done for 20 years. Put it into 3 bunkers tonight on the left side of the green when it was great distance, but no cut.....

Just setup straight is what I need to do!! Hard after 20 years of the same ball flight to change....

sad news Booyaka. I was hoping for good news after your 3 qualifying rounds :(

that wasn't club championships.... That was the clubs main singles matchplay tournament last night..(Anniversary Trophy)

Club Champs start on Monday 13th! :D

But got Stutt cup Match play next Thursday (front tees matchplay) and Golf in Scotland Match play on Tuesday next week which is a regional knockout comp where you can be drawn against anyone within 30/40 miles. I got home tie to start with.

Far too many ties going on!

Sorry to hear that @booyaka
What does scoring 3&2 mean? I see it a lot in the club but have no idea what it means

It means I was 3 holes down with only 2 to play.

Final result was actually 3&1 - my apologies.

So as an example...

I won 13th and 14th last night and that left me 1 down with 4 holes to play. I lost 15th so I'm 2 down, with 3 to play.

We halfed the 16th so I'm now 2 down with 2 to play.... So I need to win both the last 2 holes to go to extra holes.

He won the 17th which meant the match ended with him 3 holes up, but only 1 hole left to play - hence 3&1....

Hope that makes sense - Match play is just about lowest score winning the hole...same score, you half it and move on.

I'm losing track of all these comps

Found a problem I couldn’t resolve and had to leave with my club handicap secretary to look into.

Went to play today and started a round of 18 on EG with a friend. Play was very very slow for first 9 as stuck behind 6 4 balls doing Texas scramble and 4 seniors who looked like they could barely walk. 9 holes took over 2 hours in our 2 ball and having to wait on most tees. We even caught the group in front who were waiting to tee off a par 3 as we putted out behind them.

Got to the end of 9 and saw 2 groups waiting to tee off 10. I was due home 90 minutes later to watch the kids and had 0 chance of making it. Cut our round short but unable to submit the cards. Assistant pro suggested we just put “pick up” on EG for whole last 9 so our cards are beyond awful. Didn’t have a great front 9 but wasn’t terrible with 17 points.

Any idea what proper procedure is if you can’t finish a round for EG? Should we have just cancelled the round and put in a reason?

I believe (but don't quote me) - that 9 holes can still counts for handicap... Check with your handicap secretary.

Well.... didn't see that coming.... nicest weather of the year.... hit the ball absolutely awful

After 5 great rounds in a row (all counters for handicap) - terrible today.

Back with my cut/slice and couldn't honestly put my hand up and say I hit more than 3 or 4 decent shots today.

Lost ball at 1/3/9 and didn't have my first par till the 12th!!! (birdied 2 & 10)....

Need to sort things out quickly as I have ties to play on Tuesday night, Thursday night then club champs KO the following week.

It was fixed by the team. They deleted the 18 hole cards and put in 9 hole card in its place.

Played today too. Worst round ever. Blobbed first. Lost 4 balls on 6th hole. Ended on 20 points. Only highlights were 3 of my best drives ever on back 9 including a 343 yard peach up the middle of the 14th. Downwind and downhill but still 70 yards past anyone else in the group.

had a similar event Friday. Hit 50 on the front 9. 50

Back 9 I came home in 41

Talk about a round of two halves

Beaten tonight in Golf in Scotland Singles tie...

I was getting 3 shots, he was playing off 6.6.
Beat me 2&1 - He was level par scratch walking off 17th green.... o_O o_O

Nothing I could do against that - I won all my 3 shot holes just to hang on to him. Nice guy, enjoyed the company.

Driver was terrible again tonight - really struggling - irons/short game/putting were very good/solid....

Todays LV interviews were awkward. They all seem slightly embarrassed when they was getting called out for taking the money.

It's going to be embarrassing stuff to start with. Can't wait to see the world #493 picking up millions for coming last because nobody else is interested. They were literally giving away 3 day tickets on twitter because ticket sales were so poor.
