My chipping is by no means amazing but I found that my biggest improvement came when I started to enjoy chipping and not fear it. Practice it, practice it some more and then practice some more, try different shots but enjoy the good ones.

I don't usually fear it, kinda the opposite, I'll chip from a foot off the green where the conventional advice is 'a bad putt is better than a bad chip', practice it a bunch too...

But today I just kept thinning them, over and over and over again. I know it's just a 'off day' thing and I'm sure it'll be fine tomorrow :)

Playing Lyme Regis golf course today, over the Jurassic Coast. 6c and 20 mph winds. I'll need a few layers! Not played there in probably 15 years so it'll be a good day out.

Well that's Rockliffe ticked off the list and I was really impressed with the course. As esK says the weather was cold and the winds were pretty strong today but somehow I've managed to have my best round ever (differential wise). We chose to go off the whites as they were the furthers tee boxes back out. Quite a long course and the wind was brutal in places. Walked off with a 79 which was a differential of 3.9 so I'm delighted. Previous best was 6.5 so it's a massive jump. I got into trouble a couple of times and went into the water twice so to only finish 7 over I'm really chuffed. I will be going back in the summer. As mentioned previously I had a look at where the gold tees would be and wow talk about back in the sticks. Had a rough work out and I should be a 8.2 handicapper in the morning when My England Golf updates.

Drove the 45 minutes to Lyme Regis yesterday, ordered my breakfast Eggs benedict (don't judge me!) But it was so nice! Got a phone call half way through eating and was told by our clubs office that Lyme only had 9 holes open that day! Gutted. Quick drive back to Weymouth an managed to get a full 18 in.

I was conisdering "mallet" putter, just to give me that little more forgivness on mishits, and I came accross this 2-Ball Ten on GolfClubs4Cash, great condition, minimal wear on one part, so very pleased. The only thing was no headcover with it, so bought one on Amazon anyways.

I love me a mallet putter, I was fortunate to get a 2nd hand Scotty Cameron Phantom X 12.5 off a mate. Love the milled face but wish it was an inch longer. It has a Stability shaft in it and they cost a small fortune to replace so I have to stick to a 34" length.

Yeah, I hit some putts once unboxed and it felt so nice off the face. Effortless to putt with, with that heavy head.

Confidence inspiring isn't it! For me, the same as yourself it's all about feel. I've had some putters with non milled faces and I can't go away from milled.

34pts this morning in the monthly stableford off the whites. Very happy and good enough to win my division :) Everything solid, just a couple of scruffy holes costing me a couple of shots.

Currently showing as a 19.1 differential on England Golf but it was pretty windy out there, especially the closing holes so wonder if it might get adjusted downwards overnight. Either way will be a counter.
