Got my almost new bag today. Over the moon, its like a Vessel bag, (i wanted the single strap) but at a fraction of the cost.

Its quite cool, the branding is a Thai beer, and was concerned over the quality etc. but the stiching is high quality, good stand mechanism and robust zips..

Lovely conditions this morning, unfortunately my golf was very up and down. Felt like one good shot to one bad. Putting was solid and wedges generally good. 30pts playing off 15. Back out again tomorrow, stableford comp off the whites.

Kinda had a 'normal' weekends golf for the first time in what feels like forever :p

Fridays golf started out great, +6 through 11! Then completely fell apart for a solid +18 total, so yes that's +12 through the last 7 holes

Today was maybe less good but consistent through the round, ended up +16 total, couple of blow up holes and my putting was mediocre really, like not terrible but lots of 2-putts and very few 1-putts, if any. Kinda happy with that :p

Got a bunch booked still before Christmas too, Cumberwell Park on Tuesday, Weston-Super-Mare on Thursday then normal golf Friday/Sunday with a 9-hole 'waltz' comp in between on the Saturday. Good times :D

Fed up of winter mats already. Ours are almost threadbare in places and getting a tee down is almost impossible. Not to mention that some of our mats are below the wood frames so if you low launch something it's hitting wood or possibly the mud/grass in front. Bring on March / April already!

^ sounds like time to buy your own...

Driving: good
Wedges: good
Putting: good
7w: mixed
Irons: may as well not have had them in the bag

Only thanks to several major slices of luck did I scrape round in 90 to score 35pts. Irons were so bad that at times I was standing over the ball thinking I don't know if I can hit this  Really odd as practice has been OK. I really need to get round to booking some more lessons!

Sadly I can't buy 18 mats for the course. I believe that's the greenskeepers job haha.

Well out today for 18 at The Astbury, Bridgnorth.

And I left my TSR at home and placed in the bag my LTDx Driver which I recently re-purchased.
All I can say is great decision made. More confidence off the tee. No lost balls and tighter dispersion on miss hits.

Will use it again Thursday just to be certain before looking at listing my TSR

Another Course to tick of the list this upcoming Thursday. Rockcliff Hall. Now this should be a fun one, the tips are rated as the hardest golf course in England. If we were to play from the gold tees my 9.2 handicap would get a whopping 19 shots :D

:D I've played it a few times, worth taking a walk/drive back to the tips on some holes just to see the extra distance. The 15th par 3 needs something like a 180+yd carry over water to make the green from the gold tee's! Played it the day before the old Trilby Tour, my mate played in it and made the blooper reel on the 15th, putting it in the bunker at the fron with his tee shot, then sculling it across the green into the water, then sculling it back again into the water back over the bunker! :D :D :D

Kinda interesting round today, I was really 'streaky', hit some lovely shots and the real highlight was some great putting (30 total, 1 pickup so 17 holes), but also some terrible chunks and thins, my chipping was absolutely terrible.

I had 3 birdies, matching my best 'per-round', but only shot +20 overall. Not terrible around there, my course handicap would've been 18 so 2 over that.

Some of my putts were ridiculous, one of them was a good 40 foot at least, all for 1 point :p Par 3, tee shot ended in the greenside bunker which took 2 shots to get out then I thinned my chip almost all the way across the green. I almost 'gave up' and just hit it but 'forced' myself to do it properly, mark the ball, clean it, line it up etc and hit a great putt. No way I made it if I just half-heartedly went for it.

It's a silly game, usually my chipping is pretty decent and my putting has a habit of not being that great, especially recently

My chipping is by no means amazing but I found that my biggest improvement came when I started to enjoy chipping and not fear it. Practice it, practice it some more and then practice some more, try different shots but enjoy the good ones.
