Golf Thread

I'll obviously very personal regards shoes as you can see from the above comments.

I've had nike, addidas, ecco, footjoy etc. over the years

And over last 8 years - Footjoy all the way for me. Dryjoys.

I'm a Footjoy man as well. Lovely heel support (where I tend to blister) and nice solid midfoot as well. I used to play in Adidas golf shoes, which were nice and light but didn't offer the same level of cushioning and waterproof-ness.

PS thanks Jason for yesterday, had a hit at the range, loving them ;). A bad shot doesn't go any less far or less accurately than a bad shot with my old cavity backs (in fact bad shots went further if anything), but they really let you know how you've mis-hit it. I didn't find the resonance unpleasant or painful, I'd just describe it as accurate feedback. But when you middle it...smoooooth as butter.

No probs Rob, glad you're enjoying them :)

Forgot to ask what irons were you using before?

Started out with Nike shoes, always the TW top of the range ones, but feet started hurting as they dont give very good arch support. Moved on to Adidas and have had 2 pairs, a pair of 360 Ltd and also a pair of Adipure, really comfy but i think i wouldnt mind a change. Been looking at Ecco Golf Casual Cool II shoies, and if i could get the American Golf website to accept my bloody vouchers i'd already have them! :D

Played today, drove the ball really well, bit loose with the irons. Highlight of the day was hitting a beauty draw with my 3w on a dog leg par 4, went past all my mates using driver to just short of the green (measured on Google Earth at 270yds!), got up there and the guys in front complemented me on my drive, their jaws dropped when i said it was just a little 3 wood for accuracy! Haha.

Can anyone ID my clubs for me? Theyre pretty old (10+ Years i believe)
Havent been able to find them anywere, been told theyre for low handicaps from previous owner. Just wondering if theyre pretty unforgiving or if im just an awful player :D
Sorry about the VERY out of focus picture.

RAM V-Series is what it says in the cavity, had a quick look on the net and couldn't find any reference to them. Oh well, dad's inheriting them for free now!

Had another hit today, 4 iron was working well off the turf but the 3 needs a bit of work; that's tough!

Well I decided to dust off the Golf gear and follow my nephews down to the driving range today, I hadn't hit a ball for around 5 years but it seemed to come back to me quite quickly.

Please excuse the rubbish video (and swing) - I was getting some good distance though, easily clearing the mound behind the 200 yard fence

Might be tempted to venture onto a course in the next few weeks

WITB:

Please excuse the poor iPhone pics, I will get some nicer ones tomorrow when I finish work.

I have:

Ping i15 Driver 9.5 Degrees
Ping G15 3 Wood 3.5 Degrees
Nike Slingshot 3 and 4 Hybrids
Nike Slingshot 5-9 Irons
Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can Wedges 48, 52, 56, 60 Degrees
Masters Powertrac Chipper
Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2.5 Putter

Random Nike Cartbag
Callaway Warbird Gloves
Titleist v1x Pro or Nike Ignite Balls
Adidas Tour 360 4.0 shoes

Looking to change the irons over to Ping G20's fairly soon, i'll probably trade in the Slingshots and get some TM Burner 2.0 hybrids to replace them. Apart from that im pretty happy with my setup. Don't think I will bother with any other woods, I was tempted with a 5 wood at one point but the hybrids have served me well.

Oh, a Japanese white Titleist Tour Bag would go down a treat too.

^^ jeez, thats a least 2 clubs too many lol

Had our club championship today, no surprise that the winner was the best golfer in the club +1 handicapper, he shot 65 + 69 (par 70) and hes only 16, got a bright future, we hope.

Shot a 75+78 to come about 8th i think, out of 60, so pretty pleased, but as is with golf, left a few out there :(

Nice clubs! Must get myself some new wedges soon and they'd have to be the spin milled Titleists I think.

Here's my WITB 2011, just cleaned them :D:

witb2011.jpg

Driver: Callaway FT5 9° with Grafalloy Prolaunch Red stiff shaft.
3 Wood: Titleist 906 F4, 15.5° with Grafalloy Prolaunch Red stiff shaft.
Hybrid: Titleist 585H 21° with Aldila VS Proto "by you" stiff shaft.
Irons: Mizuno MX200 with Dynamic Gold Dynalite S300 shafts, 3-PW, custom fitted (loft and lied) the other week. The 3 iron is left out most of the time in favour of my Hybrid.
Wedges: Titleist Vokey 50°, 54° (bent to 55°) and 60°.
Putter: Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5.

Doesn't look quite as nice without the blades in the bag :(

I'm sure Robbie G's bag looks considerably better now though ;)
