1W: unknown Japanese knock off, the bloke that gave it to me said it was a copy of something or other. The shaft has split near the hosel, but I don't know if it affects the club in any way as it seems to only be the outside plastic liner that has split.

Looks like a Callaway Big Bertha Warbird driver. Got a mate who still uses one of those, except his is an 8 degree loft! Brave man using those MP-33's, lovely iron but not very forgiving and they certainly let you know when you hit a ball wrongly with a nice bit of shaft sting.......

Quick look at mine.

Taylormade R11 10.5 Stiff
Titleist 909F3 Aldilla Stiff
Taylormade Rescue 11 No3 Stiff
Taylormade Burner Hybrid No4 Regular
Taylormade r7 Regular 4-PW (1/4 inch shorter and 2 degrees flat)
Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Style Newport 2 @ 33inch.

Wedges:

Currently,

Callaway X-Series JAWS 52/12
Ping Tour 58 (WRX custom option Nippon 1050GS Stiff shafts and T-grind)

Swap between taking out either of the rescue clubs and/or Cally wedge with the other two Ping Wedges in my set which are the same WRX Ping Tour but in 50 and 54 degree. The Ping wedges have very little bounce as the back edge has been fairly aggresively ground off with the T-Grind option, if i need more bounce i just open the face a bit more.

No false bravado but I really love them. I absolutely love the fact that they make it loud and clear when you've hit a really bad shot, yet reward you with utter sweetness when you hit a good one. It's like an incentive to concentrate harder on improving, whereas with my old clubs, all bad shots felt pretty much the same.

They're no harder to hit than my old clubs tbh, in terms of the difficulty with with which you can get the ball up in the air and travelling in the right direction.

Yeah, if i'm doing some intricate work with the teaching pro i use, he generally gets out one of his MP-68's and gets me to use that for the lesson, really teaches you about concentration for each and every shot. As he's fond of saying, "You're only as good as your next shot!"

Irons: 3 - PW MP33. Gave them a clean with some warm soapy water, a soft nylon brush, a cloth and a golf tee...they scrubbed up pretty well :D.

Cheeky blighter, they were spotless when I handed them over to you :p;)

I find an old toothbrush under running warm water works quite well on the grooves of clubs, or if you can't find an old toothbrush just use the wifes :D

What are peoples thoughts on an OcUK golf tournament? I don't mind sorting something out if we can get enough support for it. I guess the only problem we've got is pleasing everyone with the location.

On a different note, anyone fancy a new Scotty?

or if that's a bit pricey for you how about a new headcover?

Would be up for a meet also. Would need to find something fairly centrl to everyone though to make it ok for travelling. Recently played The Warwickshire which was nice, also Worksop which was a good track too. Maybe something around Nottingham would be fairly central?

I'm in Leeds (my mum lives in Warrington, so can travel down that side of country also and combine with a trip to them), but golf knows no bounds or miles! :D Can organise stuff round here if required though, some not too shabby courses around my way........

Anyone know if there are any free golf courses around London? Otherwise I'm looking at about £20 per round which is too steep to play regularly.

How about Hawkstone Park?

If we can get a minimum of 8 of us we'd qualify as a society and get reasonable rates, £31.50 per head which includes coffee and bacon bap on arrival as well as 18 holes of golf. If we wanted a meal after then it would be £39 all in. It's fairly central for everyone that's taken an interest so far and the Hawkstone course is one of the most beautifull places you'll ever play golf.

Thoughts?

That looks good Jason, however the only date I personally can make in the near future is Sunday 21st August (a week on Sunday) of which I doubt there are even morning tees available anymore for a course like that. This follows a conversation with my wife in which she 'expressed concern' about me being away after this date! Therefore I'll probably have to duck out of this, unless a) everyone else happens to be free on this date and b) you are a member and can blag something :p.

No probs Rob, that's totally understandable given your current circumstances, maybe it would be better at my home course then?

It has a friendly atmosphere along with good food/decent bar. It's a pretty course and a good challenge of golf, it's also in really good nick at the moment especially the greens. It's more central than Hawkstone and I can guarantee for us all to get on, along with hopefully some sort of guest discount. I think it would be £12.50 green fee but I'd have to confirm this as it might change depending on numbers.
