HAHA ****** game after a great round last Saturday I played like a complete muppet today

badputtinground.jpg

I'd be happy with 84 !!

Played in a comp this morning, 3/4 hcap 2 from 3, we scored 73 :(
I drove the ball really well, chipped well too, putting awful but got better, irons rubbish had 4 shanks ffs !!! Really struggle with irons have done for ages, for instance a pitching wedge for me goes 75yds, 9 - 90, 8 - 115, from the 150 i need a 6 iron and that's in dry windless conditions, plus the odd shank (low and right banana shot). :(
Any advice welcome.

Can you post a video on Youtube or mail one to me I would be happy to take a look and give what advice I can!!!!

Played on Friday and more or less had my slice in check, pitching was decent, but my second shots on the fairway were abysmal I just hit too many fat shots because of the wet ground. Hoping to use a tip which I have read in the Golf Monthly mag and see if I can eliminate taking to much of a divot, which makes me look a proper Charlie when the ball only propels about 10 - 20 yards up the fairway

Had a bit of low and right action myself a few times recently. Got it checked out by my teaching pro and in my case it turned out to be a 'weak' left hand, when gripping it i could only see 1-2 knuckles of my left hand at address, by moving the grip 'stronger' (i.e. rotate it further round to the right) so more knuckles are showing it got rid of them. It's due to the club head being delivered to the ball 'open'.

Yep, I used to have a weak left handed grip too. Its amazing just how much of an effect those little things have.

In the market for a new 3 wood at the moment. Tempted by either a Titleist 910F or an R11....or wait until the new Taylor Made series next year, not sure I can wait that long tho :D

I cant speak highly enough for my Ping i15 at the moment!!!!!

Have a G15 3 wood at the moment with a stiff Diamana Blueboard. I can shape it very well but I feel it lacks the distance I want from it.

Had an i15 driver earlier this year, was a really good club. Traded it in for an R11 though, couldn't resist.

Off to pick up a Matrix Ozik Altus shaft for my hybrid on Tuesday, rare shaft, cant wait to get it :)

Is the R11 Driver much longer than the i15?
Is that the shaft thats been specced for you? because it dont matter how rare it is if its not the right spec for your swing speed :)

Played 9 holes on Saturday and my god it was cold. Coldest day of the year so far no doubt.

Can anyone offer recommendations for clothing at all? I've got mainly polos, base layers, polyester pants and of course rain jacket and pants, but what do you guys normally wear during the winter months?

I generally wear a skin under my polo shirt and keep my waterproofs (Galvin Green Goretex) on all the way round.

I generally find the key is to wear a good thick woolly hat (I am as bald as a coot) and I carry my bag so I can keep my hands in my pockets when walking.

The key to playing in cold weather is to have multiple thin and flexible layers.

Normally I wear a skin under my shirt and then usually a wind and light waterproof short sleeved top (I wear one of these) and then if its really hammering it down with rain I'll put on my waterproofs. I really dislike playing with long sleeved jackets, but needs must at times.

+1 to the GG Goretex as well :D

Under Armour and Footjoy also make very good cold weather playing gloves, and of course a nice hat helps too.

I'm a Canterbury IonX base layer, polo shirt then windproof top, then normal golf trousers and waterproof bottoms down below. Carry my waterproof top in my bag in case of rain. A good hat and a pair of big titleist mittens. Kept me warm at -6 up in Scotland earlier this year.

Having a bit of a think about wedges. I have some Cleveland 15's 50* 56* and 60* even though there new this year, clean and look sharp they dont seam to have much spin not only that I find it hard to judge distances with them.
The other day I was out with my mate and he lent me his Cleveland 49* 588 ( old and rusty as hell) and a vokey 200 54* ( again battered) I dont know if its cos these have a little less bounce or what but they stop the ball near the pitch mark for me but i can judge distances with them dunno if they feel heavier, but they feel nice.

Now do i try to get these off him or off ebay, or do i look at the new spin milled ones
