So i've got a fitting booked in a week and my play has completely gone to ****. Hit the driving range to try and fix and that didn't help.
Managed to get an hour lesson this morning, love lessons but it does make me wonder how i was hitting irons well previously and not so now... Things i'm not doing well;
So yeh not much haha
- Stand too far away from the ball
- Stance too wide
- Don't turn my body so backs to target
- Club goes behind me on back swing
- Flicking wrists at impact
- Not hinging wrists on back swing
- Right arm comes to far away from body on back swing
- Body not rotating at impact
- Throttling the club with my grip
- Inside out swing
So in the hour we mostly worked with a wedge just making sure the stationary setup was good then working on short chips (30-50 yards) concentrating on back swing to 1/4 swing and then small swing ensuring my body turned and not just arms.
Moved onto 9 iron and fuller swings.
Really helpful session so shall go back in a month or so for a follow up.
Then went onto the range with my lad and hit some duff shots but some great chips and a handful of awesome 7 iron shots. My normal 7 iron carry is around 125>130 yards but managed to hit a few around 145carry .
That's a lot of swing thoughts right there!!! One of the things I really like about my current coach is he just gives me one thing to work on and nothing else, if I had that list my brain would melt
