Good news for Scotland (and the rest of us)..

Seriously who cares? It's so desperate..

It was in response to the post to correct the error which a few people did seem to care enough to jump on.

The fact is that Scotland takes far more money from the UK's block grant per person than they contribute and it's the English taxpayer that pays for it whilst being blamed for every Scottish misfortune.

Seriously who cares? It's so desperate...

The English people mostly dont care, Westminster is terrified. They've been robbing Scotland forever, lately it was oil and gas but that's about to change to green/net zero energy and fresh water.

England doesn't need Scottish water or it's rubbish 'renewable' (intermittent, unreliable and currently un storable at scale) electricity. England, being a nation with extensive hills and coats of its own already has enough 'renewable' potential and already deployed sites thank you very much.

The north of England is plenty wet enough already and the more water stressed areas are down south, where even the Scottish government have to concur that it would not be practical to pump water to from Scotland. Scotland doesn't supply England with any water and their are no plans do so.

You have been had over at least twice once by the SNP con who have had you over about the financial situation between Scotland and the rest of the UK and twice over by their crony allies in the Green party who have fed you a load of nonsense about renewables.

England that you can google over the last ten years even 20 and more on hosepipe bans and water depletion.
And throw facts about hosepipe bans being managing resources. But google some areas being serviced with bottled water and in drought.
Also google away mr Boris Johnson suggested canal systems like they have in america to supply water to places like Phoenix and desert cities.
Fresh water is fast becoming the most important resource on earth.

In the country that first had railways we struggle to put in a high speed link to update our slow, aged system and you think we going to build a whole new fresh water canal from Scotland all the way down to the south East?

Boris also had an idea to build a bridge over the Irish sea aswell...

It seems he had quite the thing for proposing outlandish infrastructure projects.

If the Scottish people want to be in the UK, great.

If they don’t, well OK, good luck and good for them.

I’m never sure why English people get so fussy about it tbh!
Think about the defence aspect. If scotland cant defend itself then someone can invade it. Then england has a land border to defend. Better off just invading scotland now than giving them independence.

Who’s going to invade Scotland? Why couldn’t an independent Scotland have something like Irelands or Icelands armed forces or even just get rid of it and go like Costa Rica?

It’s a wider debate on what we think the UK military should look like but I don’t think an independent Scotland needs to have a large force at all. We aren’t going to see tanks roaring over the Cairngorms so why waste the money on them.

An independent Scotland would be like an open sore on Englands border - the country would be over run by CCP and Russian spies and the UK would then end up paying to secure the border as Scotland would be incapable.

If Scotland was in Ireland I doubt anyone would really care if it left but with a land border it will cause all sorts of problems that the UK tax payer will end up paying for.

Lol they don't need Scotland being indepedent to have spies all over the UK... they were happily invited to come by the Tories et al.

Every country has spies that just part of the game but we have MI5 / 6 to monitor them - Scotland wouldn't.

Then you add in Faslane which would either be closed and see Scotland kicked out of NATO or Faslane would remain UK territory but would have to bus in workers from England (as you can't have third country workers on a secure military site) no doubt with Russian financed infrastructure popping up in the vicinity.

Well personally not that I'd ever have the power to do it, but I would opt to just invite the US to place a significant naval and air presence while things get sorted out.

Lol so Scotlands idea of regaining sovereignty would be to give away large chunks to the US amongst others?

One other good thing about Sturgeon leaving is that the English media is likely to be as dismissive of her successor as they are of who ever it is that runs Wales. Sturgeon had a unique ability to irritate us, which the media loved pushing, but all the other SNP MP's are pretty much anonymous here.

The US and Canadians have already been here - they were covering maritime patrols for a long time when we (stupidly) got rid of the Nimrods, thankfully the new Poseidon's are coming on line now.
