I managed to bag few albums for $2.99 on sales

so lets hope they will have same sales here in UK...if not, will buy from US version

the scan and match thing definitely isn't working for me, 12 uploaded in 40 mins, going to be a long few weeks!!

It definitely worked for me. Out of 1200 songs, over 200 of them were available within a couple of minutes.

In the last 10 minutes or so, uploading seems to have slowed dramatically, and it's not my connection.

oh well, no idea why it's not working here, but I've 22, 215 tunes to upload and so far it's done 14, which is all that appear online atm!

Mine's done 1088 now, at ~100kB/s in about 3.5 hours. I think I worked it out that 575 that had uploaded earlier would have took ~13 hours, so it must have picked up quite a few for me

I singed up using the US service, nothing is different now, it was simply to gain access afaik

Well mine's still the US store, ie $ prices etc. Would prefer to be on the legit UK service now I can, but dunno how!

Im not convinced its working now.
I just restarted my upload from 6am this morning, and it still wants to do the full 14k's worth of tracks...

Fantastic service, I'm about half way through my 6000 songs. Can't believe they give you 20k songs for free! It'll literally be years before I get anywhere near that

Im looking forward to deleting all my music off my home server when uploaded and just using Google Music to store it all.
When its all online, i'll prune all the stuff that i don't listen to anymore to make some room. :cool:

Haha. When it scanned my music folder, it found over 35,000 songs :eek:

But I have only uploaded a handful of albums for now. I will be uploading more and more. I do need to sort out my music cos I have too many duplicates. Would be nice to be finally rid of iTunes once and for all.

What's this match thing you're all on about? I just clicked to upload everything i have in iTunes (~4700 songs) and it's done 30 in about 3 mins at around 100kB/s

They have an algorithm that scans the files and if it can match it to one already on googles servers it wont waste time uploading it.

Why are you concerning yourself with that kind of stuff? It'll be done in a day or 2, just don't watch it ;P
