Cheers Mujja. My SDK is installed and tested and ready to go for tomorrow.

Did you go with CWM or TWRP?

Twrp with lollipop theme is pretty good.

I also like stock rom with Franco Kernel with the FKUpdater app to tweak screen colours and vibration intensity etc.

Nice. The new CM12 5.1 ROM has white balance and vibration intensity baked in. Will try that after stock. I like the LP Dark theme too.

Ah yes that's fair enough. I haven't ventured back to CM yet, just need xposed to work again and I'll be happy with gravity box for some tweaks.

I'm sure you'll have looked into it already but I'd remove the encryption after you've updated to 5.1

So once I have removed encryption, what happens when there's an update? Have to do it again?

Or just choose ROMs without encryption?

Have you noticed a difference in performance? And I'm guessing you did it via the Wugs Toolkit?

You can just update with a modified boot image. Its only a kernel alteration so a custom kernel like Franco doesn't force it.

As I see it, the only benefit to having it enabled is if you want an extra layer of security. As you'll have a blank phone you may as well take it off because data must be wiped. If you really want encryption you can put it back on without wiping...

I've been on stock 5.1 for a while along with Franco kernel & fkupdater there are so many options in the app colour, Vibration, audio, cpu, etc & not to mention it looks gorgeous too! Fully recommend it.

Enjoy the N6 I love mine :D

dropped spiegen case for a pouch ;D
screen protector is off as well ;D
this phone feels so slick with out case or screen protector I want to hold it all the time ;)

I'm staying well out of buying new phones for a while.

kona congratulations on your new purchase Mate. Samsung shot themselves in the foot by not making the 128Gb version from the start.

So what colour option did you go for and what made you go for the Nexus 6 over the Note 4?

Cheers stoosh. I always like Motorola and now they made a Nexus with OLED and top specs I had to give it a try. And now that Samsung have given up the SD slot and had a poor launch, it was easier to give the Nexus a go.

So far I like it but gotta get used to the size. I'll need a good few days I reckon, still setting it up and haven't changed over yet. All rooted and unlocked + TWRP.

To those that have modded:

1. Are you guys using Xposed for tweaks - is it sable on LP now?
2. What's Franco kernel & fkupdater for? Mainly CPU tweking or does it do stuff like xposed?

Can you use both Xposed and Franco together?

3. Also I need to enable the Notif LED and double tab to wake.

Xposed used to work on 5.0.X fine but hasn't since 5.1. Could take a little while to work again... (Xposed doesn't interfere with Kernels like Franco but it is generally best advised to use it on stock system rom and not custom ones like cyanogen.)

Franco Kernel is just a modified Kernel instead of using the stock one. FKUpdater is used to alter the customisable settings created by Franco. it does voltage tweaks like you mention but can also enable double tap to wake with a toggle... It also has some preset display tweaks which are useful... I'll grab a couple of screenshots.

^Yes agreed Mate it would be rude not to have a go. Once you've got used to the size there will be no turning back.

I'll be very interested on hearing your thoughts on the device and how you're getting on with it.

I've found Franco kernel has improved battery life quite noticeably with the various tweaks he has used.

Will do mate, need more time as I'm busier than I'd like to be. Another reason I went Nexus 6 is that cos it's a Nexus and been out a while, the modding scene is thriving.

Cheers looks very handy. are you on 5.1? Is that battery % icon from Franco?

This the correct xda thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/orig-development/kernel-franco-kernel-r1-t2987173
