So I dropped my phone and cracked my screen :( Google isn't really helping it finding out how I can get it repaired or how much it is going to cost. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

That sucks man. I think someone in here had it done by moto for £120..

Latest to join the cracked screen group :( First phone ever I've cracked the screen on.

It didn't fall from a great height at all too which makes me more sad.

Rang the number above the guy said it'll cost about £100, If its £120 I don't mind though. Good job I didn't sell the Z3C!

Unlucky Matteysan.

I talked my close mate into getting a Nexus 6. He was waiting for the OnePlus 2 but I told him to try the N6 in the meantime.

He's still on the S3 lte and loves to root and rom. If he gets used to the size I'm sure it'll be a keeper.

Can't beat the Nexus if that's what he loves to do, If he can manage the size then it'll be perfect for him! I had a bit of a nightmare getting PA onto my Z3c but finally managed to get it done seems smooth enough!

I miss the screen size, these small phones are too hard to type on with my fat fingers xD

Yeah 4.6" must feel mega tiny. It's a nice change to only manage with one hand though. But then again, the Nexus 6 is worth the 2 handed use haha.

The n6 is a weighty phone and larger the area suspended with glass than most phones so I don't think it would need a large drop to crack. £100 all in from a main dealer is pretty good

Apparently I'm some sort of masochist... OPO is acting up (again), and junglestore just dropped these to $349.99 for the 32GB, so I took the bait. Again

Let's see what happens this time... *sigh*

If I want to keep the stock ROM (including the locked BL), is there a way to root from within? I'd like to install Xposed and get some of the features I'm used to in CM12.1.

Cheers,

Su

Is there a way to "pre-root" a Nexus factory image before flashing it?

[edit] Is anyone using the latest Paranoid Android ROM?

Cheers,

Su

I've been suffering epic lag in the camera lately. I've used HDR only since I got it and always took plenty of snaps in a row without issue. Now, the shutter button blanks itself out for a good 5 seconds after a shot has been taken. Won't be buying pure google again, as much as we moan about touchwiz etc it's obvious both hardware and software need more refining than google can/have done. Going over to a edge+ with custom rom, I already suspect it'll be miles better.

Gutted as I love the speakers, screen and fast charging. :(

I don't have my Nexus 6 on me now to check, but surely HDR always took a few seconds to process before you could snap again? N6 was quicker than before, so maybe only a second or 2, so 5 seconds sounds too much.

Personally I would factory reset first as the Nexus will generally be smoother than anything else out there and it sounds like something has just gone a little sideways on you.

Yes there was always a second or so while the hdr processed but it's got so much worse. The static sound upon taking a photo has got slightly worse, almost as bad as my first handset. You can hear it in recorded videos if the audio is quietish, it comes across in video as a whirring sound. The stabilization in the camera loves to move around too, makes the image on screen shift around noticeably.

I've noticed the charger only makes the whistling sound when the phone ifully charged too. Never had a 'premium' phone that makes so many weird sounds, it just doesn't give off the impression of quality you get with other manufacturers.

No lag here and my HDR is fine. You can fire off the next shot as soon as the circle completes and the rest of the processing is done in the background.

Not noticed any charger whine either.

Still waiting for my phone, They have fixed the screen but when they decided to format & flash a completely clean phone they have managed to lose the IMEI number on the phone

Guys are so incompetent at SBE LTD, They didn't even get in contact with me about that issue, I've had to keep pestering them about where it is, I should have had it back today under the original problem.

If I were anyone advised to send my phone to these guys I would definitely ask for another repair centre.

Sumanji I've used PA on the nexus 6 there isn't much different really from stock.

[Just off the phone, Still don't have a clue, Asked to speak to a supervisor to be told there wasn't one there! Apparently he's going to "chase" it up]
