All n6 hands on say its smoothe. No one has said the n6 is laggy. I have read or seen almost every review and youtube clip on it. Can't coment on n9 but that uses a completely different CPU setup for one.

@panthro

Latest chat and rumours on UK launch and pricing:

Hope this helps.

What are you banging on about now Panthro?

You said it was closer to £400. That just isn't, and won't be the case (unfortunately). I'll be very happy if you're right though.

Read what you wrote. You're the one who said £600 and then contradicted yourself. Then I said it looks like it will be closer to £400, based on the link provided:

How About Price?

As for pricing details it’ll cost $649 in North America for a SIM-free handset. Before tax and VAT in the UK that comes to about £410 so we can expect it to cost a little over £460 in the UK.

£460 as a speculative price.

I know how foreign exchange works and that it won't convert automatically into GBP!!

Personally data is too low, I use 8-10gb most months, god knows how much it would cost at that range so sim only with the vodafone retention deals (50% off) is the best bet for me.

If we can have some news reports of £28 for that contract on O2, why can't O2 just publish the nexus 6 on their website with contract prices. I want to know what a contract with more like 1-200 minutes and more data would cost.

Even with an AOSP rom my phone is getting pretty laggy lately.

@loltim

So it looks like it'll be on O2 for £28 per month according to http://www.knowyourmobile.com/mobile...s-5-nexus-7-10 - 1gb data, ul texts and ul mins. Similar to the mobiles.co.uk price I guess. Why would you go sim free at that price?

A couple of observations.
1. We do not yet know the SIM free price. Whatever numbers we toss around here are based on rumours, US $ exchange rate conversions, etc, not hard facts. We know that Moto has a history of working closely with operators/carriers to showcase their phones. Moto is now Lenovo owned so perhaps Lenovo is keen for this first launch to be highly successful through the operators and may help with subsidy to them?
2. I can do the maths too. If it is 28 quid for a two year contract, that is an all in cost of 672 quid spread out rather than a possible up front SIM free 400+ quid. Two years of unlimited calls, data and 1 GB of a 4G plan generally costs you more than 200 quid (the possible difference) over two years. But SIM free offers you the freedom to switch data plans whenever a better deal arises. Also it gives you the easy option to sell the N6 and move on to the next big thing immediately rather than waiting for the expiry of the two year contract.

Horses for courses.

I remember trying to get a Nexus 4 - I had a browser on my home machine, a relatives machine via logmein, and a 2 mobile devices trying to get one from their second batch awful really.
N5 wasn't hard but the 6 seems to be causing frustration over in the states.

N5 was easy peasy, I ended up ordering two (1 from CPW and 1 from Google) and I got both within a few days. N6 though seems to be royally borked. This is obviously a big problem for Google and I feel it must rest with the OEMs. I can't see any other reason.

I think he's trolling you - it was pretty clear what you were getting at.
No I wasn't; I just didn't understand why he wrote this:

650usd (I assume the 32GB model)
Most things sold over here now seem to get converted by just replacing the dollar sign with a pound sign! Call it £600 I'm thinking.

and then said I was the only who came up with the £600 pricing :confused: All I did was say that £600 was expensive and then he replied with this:

650usd converted into GBP is £400...that fits exactly with your post. It simply does not work like that.

Anyway nevermind, I know what I meant so wires crossed or whatever.

Where on earth did I say you were 'the only one who came up with the £600 pricing'? I cannot fathom where you might have got that from. I was the one suggesting the £600 price tag.

I was commenting on your claim that the N6 would come in 'closer to the £400 mark' and that that handily happens to be 650USD converted into GBP. I was just making it clear that that is simply not what happens with prices of items when brought to the UK compared to prices in the US.

Anyway. This is turning into a ballache.
