£499 for the Nexus 6 (32Gb) I honestly think is a good price!

Its a premium high end phone and the 1st of such from a "Nexus" so I have no problems paying that sum.

Finally, a Nexus with no compromises at a good price!

I'm in the same position. My only worry is I will miss the removable battery.

Having had iPhones, iPads, Nexus's and Nokia Lumia's all without removable batteries I don't know why people say this is an issue. Sure it's easier to replace the battery but on all of the phones I have had I have never had to replace the battery.

I used to have a removable battery phone once (S2) and it was really nice to just replace the battery and be at 100% again, compared to now where I have to have it tethered to something to charge it.

I agree. SD card and removal battery's are nice but it just won't happen on the nexus range so I have forgotton about it. Hopefully this time next year we will have the new battery tech that lasts days or weeks.

The supercapacitor is smaller than others because it uses graphene instead of aluminium. In 72 hours, it will only lose about 20 per cent of its power if not used, which is about on a par with a lithium battery.

That doesn't sound on a par with a lithium battery at all

Tiny capacity but useful to give your phone a boost when you've not got time to charge it. Frankly as a capacitor I'm surprised it takes so long to charge - it's only about 6Whr!

No compromises? Can I have some of what you're smoking? :p

That said it's a reasonable price and worthy of consideration.

I travel a lot and i use my phone to listen to music read books etc and I probably answer 90 percent of my work e-mail on my phone. I have 3 batteries for my note 3 and I regularly change them. It is much easier than plugging in an external battery whilst i'm using the phone especially on a 12 hour flight.

I'm in exactly the same boat and the non removable battery is a big concern. Spending a day travelling, waiting around in airports, hotels etc usually always means getting through 2 batteries. Yes the 15 min top up is nice but not having to worry about finding a power point is nicer.

Fast Processor.
Large HD Screen
Large Battery 3220 mAh
Premium Build
Dual Speakers
A Good Camera with OIS and 4K recording.
Android 5.0
3Gb RAM
Wireless Charging

Its packing the latest tech with quality build materials.
Now you tell me, Where is the compromise?

And dont say phone is to large because some people like large phones (like me).

Also, find me a rival phone which also costs £500 and offers the above.....

No SD card slot
No removable battery (a battery is a consumable item which will die over time, making it non-replaceable is planned obsolescence)
No notification LED

Then you can move onto points like is 3220mAh really that big in a 6" phone? The one in my Note 2 is 3100mAh, two years ago, in a smaller chassis.

That's just a few to get started, no doubt there are other compromises that've slipped my mind.

Rival phone that costs £500 etc? Irrelevant. The claim was 'no compromises'. Patently, this is untrue. Besides, since there are no other phones out with Android 5.0, this is clearly a rhetorical question. It's like saying 'find me a rival phone that offers iOS' [compared to the iphone].

I find it hard to believe many people come close to filling 64GB on a phone. Is a lack of SDcard slot really an issue?

No removable battery is a more reasonable issue, turbo charge goes someway to helping with this because you can refill most of the battery in 15mins but I can see how it may be a compromise for those used to carrying around three batteries over a few days. Perhaps a charger pack is a somewhat viable alternative?

No notification seems like a weird complaint to me, people who have used the new notification system on the MotoX seem to only have great things to say about it. Seems like it may even be a good thing.

Nexus 6 Stand Folio Case up on the Play Store for 30 pounds (coming soon). There is also a second option called a Naked Tough Case, also from Case Mate, and is a thin, clear hard shell with a minimal design and a kickstand reminiscent of the HTC EVO.

Actually I think the Stand Folio case looks quite cool, with slots for credit cards. Anyone else agree?

Although I occasionally use a fair bit of storage for music when going abroad, I sometimes use my SD card for e.g. backing up the phone onto or transferring large files since it copies quicker by plugging the microSD directly into the computer. Plus quickly being able to transfer things from one phone to another, that sort of thing. It's on my list of nice-to-haves although probably not essential.
I have a charger pack etc, for me the removable battery thing is only likely to be an issue when the original battery dies, I'm not one to frequently swap batteries.

Yeah not having used the Moto notification system maybe I need to see it in action before deciding if a +ve or -ve..

I think I am going to take insureance out on this phone

So it looks like it'll be on O2 for £28 per month according to...

Bear in mind that some of us picked up the Note 4 on this exact contract and we were able to increase the data allowance to 5GB for an extra £5 per month or 8GB for an extra £10 per month. I was offered a £2 discount on top of that so I'm paying £31 a month for 5GB.

If o2 have the 64GB version available on that contract - free handset, unlim calls/txts, 5GB data @ £33 a month, I'd say it's well worth it. If you can get a discount then even better.
