So your thinking is as follows?

33 pounds pm times 24 months or pounds 792 versus SIM free purchase at pounds 549, a difference of pounds 243 is a better deal than getting the month to month deal for 4G for a t least 10 pounds pm elsewhere (if 10 pounds pm could be obtained).

The only disadvantage I can see to your plan of course would be the fact that you are locked into a 2 year contract obligation which would be a factor when and if you want to buy the Nexus 7 (I am an optimist)!

I'm disappointed that its 549 pounds, I was secretly hoping it would be pounds 500 for sixty four and pounds 450 for the thirty two.

Never paid over pounds 500 for a phone before... this would be a 1st.

I hate that they dangle that free 6 months of Play Music but then say it's only for NEW customers. I could have a separate profile of course just for music... but that just makes things unnecessarily fiddly.

That's something that's worth doing for me, as it would allow the missis to use it on her Nexii without muddling up my account.

Even at £500, I'm still getting an itchy purchase finger on this toy.

I find it hard to believe many people come close to filling 64GB on a phone. Is a lack of SDcard slot really an issue?

No removable battery is a more reasonable issue, turbo charge goes someway to helping with this because you can refill most of the battery in 15mins but I can see how it may be a compromise for those used to carrying around three batteries over a few days. Perhaps a charger pack is a somewhat viable alternative?

No notification seems like a weird complaint to me, people who have used the new notification system on the MotoX seem to only have great things to say about it. Seems like it may even be a good thing.

I have a charger pack but when traveling it is easier to just swap a battery from your pocket. 64 GB really is as low as I would want to go, I have a lot of music on my phone. Put a few movies or TV shows on there for a two week trip and it soon fills up.

that's what I'm thinking. For me it's a Nexus so shortly after playing on the Stock rom we're gonna root the thing and put a custom rom on it.
By time you backup the thing with CWM, and app backups with TiB it would be cool to have plenty of space for stuff to watch whilst on breaks at work etc.

I use a 128GB micro sd in my xperia z2, and it has about 80gb on it at the moment, which is approx 3000 flac files iirc.

Just saw a tweet from someone saying "Nexus 6 Price Revealed....and it looks like good news" - 500 notes!?!?! Not good news in my eyes!!!!
