Google Pixel 7/7 Pro & Pixel Watch

I think the Pixel 7 Pro is going to be the winner for me. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my trusted XZ Premium, which still feels like a decent phone.

totally agree about the fingerprint scanner .... I had a Pixel 6 and most of the time it didn't even work , now the Pixel 7 Pro , it is pretty much bang on all the time. Im enjoying the Pixel 7 Pro at the moment and I have put my iPhone 14 Pro up for sale ... I hope when I get the Pixel watch it will be a good experience still.

Also is there anyway of putting the URL bar within Google Chrome on the bottom of the screen at all ? Had a look at the settings but I can see any options. Cheers

Finding mine (standard P7, not pro) a bit annoying compared to my 6 pro

The finger print scanner doesn't work very well, especially when logging into apps. I don't think I've managed to use my thumb to login to the Lloyds bank app more than once or twice. I keep getting bounced out to using random letters from my memorable word. This would happen on the 6 pro sometimes, but not as often. I've added the same thumb twice as well in the hopes that will help but it's not made much difference. Unlocking the phone isn't as bad thanks to face unlock, but in the dark I'm finding I need to use my passcode more often then the finger print working.

Had a bug this morning that made the display not switch on. To make matters worse it was whilst the alarm was ringing and I've set the snooze and off to use buttons on the screen. The alarm was getting louder and louder and nothing I pressed would turn the screen on. Eventually I have to hold the lock button and volume up for 10 seconds to hard restart the phone which brought the screen back to life again.

Other than these the phone lives up to the previous pixels (I've had each gen since the P2), but the above certainly mar the experience and it's not what I expect from a premium phone. Hopefully they're just teething issues which will get better with time and updates

I'm not sure if I'm missing a setting here but is there a way to make Bluetooth devices automatically connect? On my galaxy note 10+, when I switched my headset on, it would just instantly connect. With my p7 pro, I switch my headset on and nothing happens, I then have to got into settings, then Bluetooth and then manually click connect next to my headset that is in my saved paired devices list.

Possibly because pixel needs to be primary device on your headset.

Try deleting all. Old pairs on your headset the re pair to pixel.

Works fine on mine.

I've just noticed on mine if I press slightly harder above the fingerprint sensor I can hear a small popping noise, like the screen isn't secure and it's flexing. Does anyone else have this?

I'm not even putting much pressure on it, but it only happens in the middle of the screen.

Got myself the Pixel 7 Pro Hazel. Quite happy with it so far.

I initially wanted to get an iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB but that's going for £1,309. No chance for trade in for my Pixel 6.

This Google device was £949 (Pixel 7 Pro Hazel 256GB), minus £240 trade in, minus a £150 uplift Carphone Warehouse promo, and I got the device for £559. Then I should be able to claim the Pixel Watch LTE which has an SRP of £379 (inflated price, considering its feature set, £200 is a more realistic price IMHO) and I think that's a significantly better deal than the iPhone (which still uses the USB 2.0 speed lightning connector).

Are you sure it's not the haptics causing it? I'd return it for a replacement as that's not normal for any smartphone.

Looks like there's a few of the black ones popping up on eBay for under £700 bnib. Either a scam or someone's been stocking up at BT.
