Noticed the discount and trade in offer on the 8/8 pro currently.
£411 to trade my 6 pro for an 8 pro or £281 to trade for the 8.

Tempting as I know if I leave it another year, my pixel 6 pro will be worth nothing. And will be no more os updates.
Any idea how the trade works? I guess you pay up front for the new phone, receive it and set it up before sending your old one back for a rebate?

Yeah that's how I remember it when I traded my 5 for 7pro- you have a certain amount of time to send your old device back else you get charged full whack

But I guess even if the phone is reduced more, the trade in deal will either disappear or not be as good.
£238 for a near 3 year old phone is pretty good.

Did anyone upgrade from a 6 pro to an 8 pro? Was it worth it? I'm guessing improvements are incremental at best.

Nothing mind blowing, just quality of life improvements in most areas.
Flat screen
Much brighter screen
Faster charging
Better battery life
Slightly better cams and auto focus
Face unlock
Long update schedule

Google themselves are offering £350 discount plus £238 back for my 6 pro.
Currys are matching Google prices plus more for trade in!
£709 for 256GB 8pro plus...
£285 trade in for a Pixel 6 PRO 128GB
Total £424
Edit. Yes the modem is better but not by much. And yes for 424 the offer is a blinder. If your 6 pro is in good condition I'd either keep it as a backup or give it so a family member and just trade in a naff old worthless phone.

My 6 pro is literally as new, not a mark on it.
The Currys deal is good, but not sure how it works, seems separate to buying the new phone.
What part is confusing you.
Order the phone and input the device details you want to trade in. Then theres a special offer on the same page when it boosts trade in my an extra 200. Fill in the rest of the details and that's it.
I believe they discount the phone at point of sale. Not a rebate after.
