Google Pixel 8/8 Pro & Pixel Watch 2

What part is confusing you.

Order the phone and input the device details you want to trade in. Then theres a special offer on the same page when it boosts trade in my an extra 200. Fill in the rest of the details and that's it.

I believe they discount the phone at point of sale. Not a rebate after.
Any idea how long you have to send your phone to them? I can't find the details.

Obviously you want your new phone all set up before handing your old one over.

Never done a trade in before :p

Nor have I but I can navigate a website :p

It's in their FAQ. They hold trade in price for 14 days.

It's exactly the same as Google, get your discount then you've got 2 weeks to send it in before they charge you the rest.
Hmm. A collegue of mine just went through with the curry's deal and it's charged him full sale price and he'll get the trade in as a future refund after it's been sent in.

interesting may have changed then, the last time I used them it was a discounted price with the rest charged if your trade it never turned up.

Ok, so I bit the bullet :)

I requested the trade in on my pixel 6 pro and selected the £200 pixel 8 pro trade in deal. Sent my details and got confirmation they will send me a box to send my old phone.

I then ordered a pixel 8 pro and was charged £649.

Just a little confused as to what links the two actions? I was expecting to input a reference number or something when ordering the new phone.

Has anyone else done this deal yet?

Nice one. My colleague has.

You get a trade in reference and on their side they'll probably see you took the pixel promotion. And see that you've ordered a Pixel. When you send your phone they should put 2 and 2 together.

As you mentioned, Currys is a 3rd rate company. But when a deal is good enough you have to deal with their quirks and incompetence.

Cheers mate, puts my mind at rest a bit :p

Currys really are dire, but this deal was too good to ignore :D

Hmm that Currys deal is really good... Would work out at £270 to go from my pixel 7 pro to 8 pro.
Can't really justify it but is damn tempting!

I've just got a Pixel 8 Pro on that Currys deal as well.

Will be sending an old Huawei Y6 in today as my trade-in. Standard quote was £1, so I'll happily take £201 given it's been sat in a drawer for a few years!

One question I do have as I get the new phone setup - can you tell At a Glance to load something other than Google Calendar from the home screen widget? Tried assorted things but it always loads Google, but I use Nine for sync'ing with MS 365.

Received my 8 pro from Currys today. Just finished setting it up. First impressions are good, nice phone. Love the face unlock.

Not night and day better than the 6 pro, but for £364 cost to trade, easy worth it.

Still no sign of the trade in package though. So currently I have paid £649. A bit annoying.

I think the e-mail said 3 to 5 days for the trade in package but mine took 7 days. I completed the form on the Currys website as they stipulate you have to send it back in 14 days and I go holiday this weekend - still waiting for a reply so glad it turned up!

Hi all,

I've had my P8 Pro since launch and pretty much decided I'm skipping the P9 this year as the phone is still fantastic - does anyone have a case they could recommend? My Spigen Liquid Air is looking a bit tatty after 10 months of use.

TIA
