Google Pixel 8/8 Pro & Pixel Watch 2

That delayed notification issue is the main reason I ditched android as my daily

There is no justification for this whatsoever. If I get an email that’s important at 8:10am I want the notification there and then, not 2 hours later when I unlock my phone.

Such a major oversight.

Are you me bruh? This is my exact same thoughts too.

Can’t be spending £1k on phone that they deem emails not be a priority. At least give users the choice to switch doze off permanently instead of having to do adb workarounds.

They only check the invoice date so works! I'll likely be putting the buds on here for a good price, have no need for them myself the more I think about it.

You mean the 14 days wait before you claim is to stop you returning the phone before you put in a claim for the promo items. However in practice that doesnt work too well. As I remember I returned my Pixel 6 and I still got my Bose NC700 despite telling them I have returned the phone and they didnt want them back when they were delivered. Got a free pair of headphones.

The dispatch is a different matter, but it is usually a lot quicker than the 30 days.

Well, this is to be expected. Should have seen this coming.
I suspect as my purchase date (5th) doesn't match the document date (6th) stated on the invoice I provided, they have requested additional proof of the purchase date - which the invoice explicitly doesn't state.

NVM all the order details, or the invoice number provided that they ought to be able to check, and should be checking, but clearly don't or can't.

Everyone has it. Those who don't notice it just don't use their phone in a way that triggers it (for example, having the phone in your pocket stops dozing from activating as it detects movement). See this thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/x9r70i/doze_has_almost_ruined_android_for_me/

For someone like me who often has the phone idling on my desk and not charging, it happens a lot. This is an android-wide problem.
It doesn't look like it's going to get any better with Android 15 as they are going to increase the doze speed by 50%.

I’ve had my Pixel 8 for a few months now and for some reason walking directions in Google Maps has never worked correctly. Essentially the orientation doesn’t change when i make a turn and I have to manually change it with my fingers in order to keep my direction of travel pointing up. Car directions work just fwiw.

And before you ask, yes, I have made sure that “always point north” is NOT activated.

If anyone else has exp the same issue i’d love to know what you did about it.

Thanks

@Lustral Same as me. Wanted Charcoal but no option. Porcelain it was!

@eddyr Did you send them this invoice? https://i.imgur.com/YI3t6mV.png

It should be in your emails as an attachment. My order date was 31st July and still worked since the invoice is only generated on the day the shipment actually takes place.

Yup, that's the proof I submitted.
It must be the discrepancy between the purchase date I entered into the form, and the proof supplied not showing a matching date.
Or someone there has cottoned on to the invoice doc date not representing the actual purchase date and now blankly rejecting any claim without supporting evidence with the alleged purchase date reported.

In my experience the whole purchase date, invoice date, doc date, line date, billing date is such a common confusion/miscommunication, I am betting on that.

I noticed this a couple of weeks back. I feel like maybe they've broken it, so I was just waiting for them to fix it again.

I'm mostly liking my Pixel 8. But has anybody noticed it being picky about chargers? Sometimes I like to slow charge my phone during the night by plugging it into my computer's USB 3.0 port. By the morning my previous phones would be charged, but the Pixel 8 seems very picky and sometimes it'll only be 50% charged.

To be safe I'm going to use contact cleaner on the cable and computer's USB ports. If nothing changes, I'll try another USB cable before accepting the Pixel 8 is a slow/picky charger.

Have you got optimised charging turned on?

Yes, will this affect charging in the way I'm seeing?

Edit: I should have mentioned that when I charged my phone last night, the battery capacity only went up another 10%, from 15%. Surely that sort of speed can't be normal, even with optimised charging enabled?
