If you're gonna keep the phone for over 3 years it may aswell be the better one.

Yeah I don't like curved at all. A lot of the newer devices seem to be going back to flat, I wonder why when the trend was curved?

It's more expensive and pointless. The gimmick was a seller at first but I don't think anyone is buying phones to get curved screens now, in fact the opposite

I will probably be tempted to get the 8 due to the flat screen. That should mean we can apply a screen protector with more ease like in the old days

If the 8 Pro is a flat screen it'll sell it to me over the 7 Pro.
Though to be fair I haven't used a screen protector for years.

I've never used one to be fair. I often go bareback but have relented over that years and got a case.
No need to use a screen protector with Gorilla Glass protection.

I never use a screen protector, I think it's a complete waste of a high end screen.

Agreed. But also it takes away from the screen slightly too. A case is as far as I go.

Me neither. I won't use a screen protector as they are just awful in comparison to the silky feel of gorilla glass, however, gorilla glass can still scratch.
It's happened to mine because I know my phone is due an upgrade so I no longer worry to seperate keys from phone pocket.

Bellroy is my go to for cases since the P6, really nice feel in the hand and they look better with age in my opinion rather than getting a bit tatty like some cases.
